incredible game with incredible ;) artwork and story, gameplay is fun and challenging enough to keep you engaged 'till you beat it. 10/10 worthy sequel to helltaker

if this game survives longer than a month i'll be happy but it just doesn't seem unique enough to take away more than 1% of counterstrike or valorant's playerbase

uncomfortably low field of view on the flashlights generates a really artifical scary feeling, one that is still somehow not enough to turn this into a horror game. the low-quality lighting and models make this feel like just another slop game.
the unlabeled usage of AI is breaking steam's terms of service. i would have continued playing it if not for all the paintings and the picture of the wife (the final goal of the game) being ai generated and soulless.
somehow badly optimised despite looking like a roblox game.
hilarious level design and a monster that seemingly always knows where you are (i afk'd to test another review and bro still found me in some random corner).
no pause menu is a crazy choice.
plenty of bugs
the extra challenge in finding all the roses is pretty cool
the monster is sort of scary, but the loading screen jumpscare is worse
the warning for flashing lights and whatnot at the start goes off-screen, in general bad ui design, font choice for the main menu baffles me. i like how some of the textures and models look (if they're not just free assets) and the game is better than a lot of other first-timer horror games, and it's not overpriced, but i still think it's not worth the money.
all in all a 3-4/10, maybe buy if you're not too picky regarding bugs and you're into simple jumpscare horror stuff

edit: developer claims that me not being on good terms with him invalidated all the points above, and also bought fake positive reviews (check the accounts that left them, all bots). might bump it down to a 2/10 for me

i'd say something about the gameplay but i'm too busy mesmerised by the goldsrc style visuals to actually play it

a great vr port for a great game, can't not recommend. so much more fun than the original version and i haven't spotted any bugs
