It just isn't the same.
Now I know it just released in early access so I wont go too harsh, However, there's some stuff I cant overlook.

+ The powerful vehicle that takes 2 people to fully operate is kind of neat and does give you the upper hand when your team starts to lose. I like this idea quite a bit.

+ The servos, joints, and pistons are the thing i wanted the most in Robocraft 1. Happy to see them finally.

+ Scaling blocks is also a very nice addition.

= Lots of stuff from Robocraft 1 is missing here such as wings, legs, rotors, helium, teslas, and shields. I understand that RC2 is still in early access and this stuff might already be planned but I have seen no word on them. Only tracks and hovers have been teased.

- The whole infantry aspect doesnt really make sense. You either shoot the enemy with a peashooter for like 2 seconds just to get blasted or run away and try to respawn your vehicle.

- I get that its a free game and the developers need money, but the battle pass being the most fleshed out part of the game really says something.

- No chat? Seriously?

- 5v5 base capture is the only game mode.

- Almost everything is server based. Even mouse wheel zoom level.

- 2 crashes in the first 2 hours. One was because the anticheat shat itself.

I cannot recommend playing the game in its current state. The community has literally said that 2015-16 era robocraft 1 was what we wanted. Call me nostalgic or whatever, but when 10 tier 4 players could get matched against 3 tier 7 players was when the game peaked. Calling this a sequel to those past times is embarrassing.

Man I said I wouldn't go too harsh. I really tried not to, but this game is so ass compared to its predecessor.

Did I ever tell you what the definition of insanity is? Insanity is doing the exact... same f*cking thing... over and over again expecting... sh*t to change... That. Is. Crazy. The first time somebody told me that, I dunno, I thought they were bullshitting me, so, I shot him. The thing is... He was right. And then I started seeing, everywhere I looked, everywhere I looked all these f*cking pricks, everywhere I looked, doing the exact same f*cking thing... over and over and over and over again thinking 'this time is gonna be different' no, no, no please... This time is gonna be different, I'm sorry, I don't like... The way... [Punches crate aside violently. His agitation towards the player character is visibly growing]... you are looking at me... Okay, Do you have a f*cking problem in your head, do you think I am bullshitting you, do you think I am lying? F*ck you! Okay? F*ck you!... It's okay, man. I'm gonna chill, hermano. I'm gonna chill... The thing is... Alright, the thing is I killed you once already... and it's not like I am f*cking crazy. It's okay... It's like water under the bridge. Did I ever tell you the definition... of insanity?
