I'm a PPL holder working towards his CPL/MEL+IFR and all I can say is this new simulator is absolutely breathtaking. True VFR flying is finally possible in a flight sim thanks to this new iteration. Well worth all the money they ask. Everything that had to be implemented through buggy third party software in FSX is now integrated in the base game, truly a success on this part !

The default aircraft are more than decent and you actually feel like you're flying a Cessna. The weather engine is absolutely bonkers and so is the lighting. The autogen AI do make some mistakes here and there, but it will only get better with time. This is the best base flight sim ever made, and I can only dream of what will come from it in the next few years.

10/10 must buy.

Ubisoft decided to alter the art of the game to cater to the Chinese government. As a Canadian citizen and strong believer in the freedom and culture of the western world, I am viscerally opposed to this decision. Ubisoft is clearly telling us that bowing to the tantrums of a fascist and oppressive government is more important than their existing customer base and it is apalling. If this decision goes through, I will stop playing this game forever.

This is a pure betrayal on Ubisoft's behalf and is absolutely unacceptable.

Ubisoft has now announced that they are not going to implement the censorship changes to the game. I'm therefor switching my review.

Paid mods is the beginning of the end of Steam. Worst decision ever, and sheep keep following Valve saying that modders need money when they've been modding for free out of cheers and satisfaction since the 1990s.

23rd of April 2015 will be forever remembered as the saddest day of PC gaming.

EDIT:

Following Valve and Bethesda apologies on the whole paid mod situation, I'm willing to revert my opinion on this game. Skyrim is a true gem of an RPG and thanks to FREE mods, it is able to stay one of the most played games on Steam despite being 4 years old and having no multiplayer.

Even though Valve did revert to the old system, we shall never forget the last weekend of April 2015, a weekend full of shame and infamy for the Glorious PC Master Race.
