A worthy successor of Helldivers.

After the Day 1 patch, most of crashes are fixed and matchmaking is working.

I can safely recommend this game now, even as a solo player.

This expansion is a perfect excuse to start a new campaign. Not only are there new missions, but the majority of the old ones are reworked and more compelling.

The Chosen aliens add flavour and tactics without scaling the difficulty too much. The power creep is present for both sides and the end-tier missions become very violent and nervous (in commander+ difficulty, Ironman mode recommended).

For a fresh new player who never experienced X-Com, the multiple layers added by this expansion will probably be overwhelming. I recommend playing at least until mid-campaign on vanilla before trying War Of The Chosen.

A great solo campain with stunning visuals and voice acting , fitting perfectly with the 40k universe.

Game mechanics are pretty smart and rewards micromanagement , without punishing too hard people who don't want to do it.
The campain even has some replayability, as failing a priority mission doesn't end it, but changes the balance of power. There is even some decision making (not a lot but still enough to influence the campain's dynamic).

The 4 races available in multiplayer and skirmish all have a specific gameplay and feel (and look) very different. Be aware that these differences obviously make multiplayer balance difficult. In addition, Eldars and Orks fleets have a steep learning curve , so be prepared when you jump into your first battle.

It is obvious that this game has been developped by a team of 40k lovers, proving that the Games Workshop's licence can still produce good video games.

As an old 40k adept, I haven't enjoyed a Warhammer game this much since the first Dawn Of War.
