Soulmask is suprisingly well put together for an EA title. The base gameplay loop of collecting and using barbarians is good and addicting. I, however, cannot recommend this game at this current state because of quite a bit of baffling mechanic choices the developers have applied.

Off the top of my head,

From what I've noticed, bringing followers on camps/barracks makes enemies harder in an unfair way which already is counter-intuitive to the main gameplay loop (That's like if Palworld made the game unfairly harder if you brought more Pals). This even gets harder when you have a friend and they also bring a follower. (I will take this out if I'm wrong)

Why are we only allowed 1 follower?

Too many hoops to jump through to even unlock the remodeling mechanics, which I consider a core mechanic in this game. Therefore in early game, it is extremely risky to use other tribesmen (counter-intuitive to the concept of this game) as you have no way of remodeling them. You need to grind ALL THE WAY to bronze tier gear to even be able to be strong enough to do the areas/bosses to unlock the remodeling mechanic.

Too little remodeling save slots, you can only save a maximum of 6 compared to the maximum tribesmen limit of 30+ AND one of the slots is already occupied by the main character (for the love of god... WHY?) which only leaves 5 slots. Also saving tribesmen one at a time is a pain and an unnecessary time waster.

The crafting is needlessly complicated. There is a lot of streamlining needed.

NPC Pathing is horrendous.

Systems are put in place for no other reason other than to extend your play time arbitrarily (For the love of god, why is unlocking Tribe armor RNG based).

This game is also extremely skewed towards hardcore grinding. This game will NOT respect your time.

This game has a lot of potential but I cannot recommend it at this moment.
