Early Access Review
What a good night to have a curse...

The game is really good. Exploring the world always feels rewarding; enemies (even basic ones) can provide some challenges if you're not prepared, and everywhere in the environment makes you feel like you're actually in a living world.

The game ticks almost all boxes: it can be nice to play if you want a stress-free time, but it can become challenging really fast. And most of all, if you don't like some parts of the game, chances are that you can customize it easily.

Do you like epic anime fights ?
Do you like to learn enemy patterns and quirks ?
Do you like to punish them after reading their moves ?

Then you'll like this game.

Do you like deck building ?
Do you like optimizing buildings ?
How about watching someone do loops around the map ?

I didn't think I particularly liked any of those but still, it's somewhat mesmerizing to play.

One of the greatest roguelike that I ever played.

Coming from Bastion, I had high expectations from the maker of a great game and oh boy, did it match my expectations and more.

The mechanics by themselves are rather classic but well executed :

- The controls are sharp and responsive,
- Items (boons and upgrades) are a huge part of the gameplay and the random aspect of the roguelike genre is mitigated a bit (you can choose your path while seeing what rewards you will get)
- In detail, boons change your tactics and gameplay quite a lot (as expected). All variations (and there are a lot) are nice to play with even if they ask you to change your style a bit.
- Multiple weapon choices and customization allow for a large variety of strategies that fit your playstyle while the game encourages you to try all of them whith changing bonuses
- Upgrades for your weapons are varied and if you feel that you're not doing well with a certain weapon, choosing some upgrades can dramatically change your experience

Storywise, I was really surprised by the depth that Hades gets to. From the small talk with characters in the hub that are always effective in cheering you up after a failed run to the one-liners of the gods of Olympus when you choose their boons that seem to be always unique, the world is full of life, happiness and personality everywhere you look.

As for the the main story, it progresses (whithout surprises) depending on your runs and brings a fitting conclusion (though a bit sad) to this awesomely crafted world.

P.S : Artemis is the best

Carved a path through every classic Monster Hunter title from Freedom Unite to Generation Ultimate.
Went all the way to the endgame of World in PS4.
Came back to it on Steam to play with friends.
Suddenly lagging like hell since Iceborne came.

A patch can't come too soon, but I'll still recommend this game from all my heart.

As always, a great game from Creative Assembly.

In addition to the beautiful world in a completely new engine, the classic gameplay remastered with a lot of quality of life improvements makes this game even better.

A favorite in my book.

I gotta say, I was (and still am) really engrossed in this game. I catch myself at work just thinking how I could get by a guard or what would be the stealthiest way to go somewhere. Having received it from the Humble Monthly, I didn't really want to play it because the description said it was a "hardcore stealth game" and I imagined at first a Dark Souls type tactical game which isn't really my favorite type of game.

After deciding to try it just because it looks very nice, I gotta say it is incredible. Gameplay wise everything works just as intended, all the characters having their own ways of achieving the same things so that you're not stuck with using a skill that you don't like and most importantly you are mostly free to do what you want to complete the mission.

The story is pretty interesting as well, and while it doesn't drown you in lore you know enough about your characters to really like them and want to learn more about them.

Special award to the soundtrack, which is absolutely beautiful and fits really well to each setting.
You can add environments that would put some AAA games to shame and a solid voice acting and you have an incredible game that might just make you addict.
