I thought of Elite 3 :P Didn't play the the Dangerous, it reminded me of EVE. Well, if you mean original DOS|Atari game.. it barely had the graphics even

Wait, here is nothing from elite? no missions, no production, no political factions. Oh, and pretty much no combat and no sound effects <.< It's all about exploring procedurally generated world.
