Many games, especially in our current generation, will hold your hand throughout the entire duration of your play time. However, Dark Souls is different. You don't get put in the game with someone showing you how to properly play the game. The only thing you'll get is a few messages that you find on the ground teaching you the basic controls of the game as you roam around. Other than that, you're on your own. You're left in this mysterious world to explore and defeat the 4 Lords of Cinder. Of course, you are able to summon a friend to help you on your journey. As you roam around in this new environment, you are presented with a large variety of enemies. Some take no effort to kill. Some will take much more effort and leave you frustrated. But throughout your exploration, you will confront many bosses. They will most likely beat you down in the first few seconds on your first attempt. Each death allows you to look back upon your actions and learn the attack patterns and move sets that each boss has. As you make multiple attempts, you gain more knowledge and you learn to become patient. And once you defeat each boss, you feel a sense of accomplishment and relief. A moment in where you have only yourself to blame for the feat you have accomplished. A feeling that not many games can provide these days. This is what makes the Dark Souls series so great. And there are multiple stories told all throughout the game, even though you may not realize it. These stories aren't just told to you through dialogue from random characters in the game. They are found within the environment and are left for you to put the pieces together to understand these stories. This game is truly one that will be remembered by many. I highly recommend purchasing this game.

A smooth and polished experience in a game that is well optimized. One of the best games in it's genre. If you are not a fan of wave-based survival games, I'd suggest turning away. However, if you are a fan of those games, then this is a great game to pick up and play especially with some friends.

This game is very difficult. It is a very simple game that throws many enemies in your direction. You can choose from a variety of characters that each have their own special ability. This game is great for those who just want to kill time and like to have a bit of a challenge. I definitely recommend this game and give it a thumbs up!
