Disable steam overlay before you play this game.

Ya it's pretty good.

My PC Specs: RTX3070, 32GB RAM, AMD Ryzen 5800.
FPS:
Ultra = 100 FPS
Low = 144 FPS

Despite having high FPS, every 4 seconds I had micro-stuttering. Mouse would freeze for a second and stop movnig, audio (Hyper X Cloud 2 Alpha Wireless) would pop like the audio was cutting out. My friend who I bought this with couldn't talk in discord while the game was focused because it would kill his audio where I would hear him every 4 seconds for a blip if he were to continuously talk. He has a better PC than I do with a 3070TI.

The is is unplayable for us. I have never seen this happen with any other game.

This game will be fantastic with workshop or mod support.
Until then it gets boring fast as the songs are very short in general.

All the bugs I mentioned below and then some are fixed.
Shout-out to oversteerstudiosoy for reaching out and letting me know or I wouldn't have come back to this at all. The game is great with friends and it's pretty fun to mess with the track creator. Although it seems a bit complex at first you can do a wide variety of adjustments with it.

The controller I use that works is just an Xbox controller. Steam was able to load the profile with no issues.



Old Review:
Terrible.
- Controller doesn't work even with the steps I found in another review.
- Scrolling in the keyboard binding page doesn't work unless you move your mouse to the right side. If you do that, it scrolls at about 3 pixels a scroll.
- I have no idea how the game is because I'm unable to drive my car.

I would love to try it again once that is fixed.

Honestly this is such an incredible game. The visuals were fantastic, music was great and story I thought was awesome. I only saw one or two glitches during the entire game that happened during fighting where everyone fell through the map right away. I just reloaded the game which saved right before it and it worked fine the second time.

The people complaining about "bad translation" are the ones complaining that sometimes in menus it will say "yes" instead of "ok" and similar with dialog maybe being something like "I asked this guy to investigation this town". It's like talking with someone where English is the second language. You know exactly what they're saying, it's just not perfect SOMETIMES. If that's game breaking for you then you're probably not fun at parties.

I played on a RTX 3070 / 5800x CPU / 32GB RAM / Win11. I did not get frame rate drops or bad visuals during the entirety of the game that others are experiencing. The gave never crashed.

The good / cool
- The control some of these cars have is so satisfying. LMP2 cars grip well and are extremely fun.
- Entire flag system is fantastic.
- Game looks great in non VR
- Some of the cars sound amazing.

Unfortunately a lot of annoyances.
The UI is just awful. I agree the old needed to be replaced though:
- I cannot exit a race after it's finished without the game crashing.
- Why can't I remove cars I don't want from a race? Why would it add MAX cars when I choose a class? Luckily I was familiar with creating a mod package to get around this.
- The game takes 5? minutes to load a race on an SSD. (I don't really care too much since you can adjust the entire weekend from inside the race, as well as controls / add or remove cars if needed).
- I crashed and wanted to watch the rest of one of my test races, the map feed is cool to see where everyone is on track, but then you go to camera the video feed is 5 fps. Pointless and lags the entire UI.

AI is fine during the race, it's really cool to see them spin or start to lose it and catch themselves. Unfortunately:
- They crash into you before you can even pull out to start the formation lap unless you drive out quickly. (VERY quickly)
- Constantly slam their brakes during the formation lap / safety cars.
- Move directly into you or in front of you sometimes under blue flags.
- I'm still messing with the settings but I haven't been able to get them to qualify correctly. I simulated LeMans and 8 or so LMP2's qualified behind the GTE's.

Overall the game is solid, but the UI updates are a huge step backwards IMO.

Only Thrustmaster wheels are supported, had to go to the discord to find out since googling had no results and they don't come out and say it.

I did not come from the modded version so I cannot compare. PVE Private server with 5 friends:

- We have no performance issues
- We see / have no glitches
- Everything works fine for me and my group of 5 people playing.

The map feels completely empty. You know how the others have cave systems you can explore and there's an end with maybe a bigger boss or something? This has 0 of that. The "Caves" you see on the locations map on the wiki are small burrows or tunnels you just go through. Some do have supply crates in them. There's no 'actual' caves so there's no need to get any gear or prepare yourself to fight things because the only fighting you'll be doing is on your mounts.

No. Because they're not actual caves, consider them as part of the map layout.

I was reading there are areas underwater considered as burrows pretty much that have loot crates in them. But I'm not even interested in checking them out because according to what i'm reading, they are burrows of nothing, with a crate in the middle.

The game is great, and definitely gets the skate fix in. The official maps are decent, there are only a few but they are fun to find spots and create your runs. Some of them seem a bit empty in spots but it adds to the realism of the game, which I find I enjoy more. (They're based on real spots)

However, the modded maps have been pretty bland. I downloaded a bunch off their official Discord (15 or so) and a lot of them feel like maps you would make in THPS's map editor. Somewhat small, basic, nothing crazy. Still cool to be able to swap maps easily without reloading and find runs of course.

The rails in these custom maps hardly work. I mean you land on a rail, then hit an invisible something while grinding that stops your momentum. Maybe it's hard to put rails together so they don't line up properly? It's pretty annoying.

A few of my friends were waiting on the content release before buying so I streamed for them yesterday. All of them laughed when they saw the price tag. I luckily bought it a while ago so I got this game during the $20 beta price.

I do not recommend this game anymore. I see all future updates being maps taken from the community to be made official.
