Solidly fun extraction game! The underwater setting makes remembering your escape routes harder, and the ship segments are always hectic and fun. My only issues with it so far is being unable to rebind keys for toggles vs holds, and that it could use some way to know how far along you are with it. The latter is more a personal thing and definitely seems to be part of the theme and design intent though.

The original creature survival game with a whole lotta new bells and whistles!
This game's original started my obsession with animal games, and therefore with the creature survival genre as it's been getting more entries from those inspired by this or simply the desire to play as an animal of some kind. However Wolfquest: Anniversary Edition has some real love put into it's mechanics and the ecosystem the player exists in. Hunting in this game is a dangerous endeavor, leading the player to naturally prefer some prey species over others depending on their pack size. While it provides small prey so you won't starve, it's not easy to raise a pack on bunnies alone. Territory management keeps you moving around the map with some frequency, which may naturally lead to hunting paths. Everything works in tandem to create a very engaging game, and the brief moments of downtime wind up being a welcome reprieve in many cases after a difficult scrap or hunt. The mechanics are just very well thought out here.
While graphics may not be the top priority here I still find myself stunned by some particularly beautiful shots over the valleys and rivers. The lighting is beautiful, and the models are about as detailed as they really need to be for this.
There is some rough patches in how the interact button is tied to a few different actions, and fighting off predators can sometimes have issues where my wolf will just stand and stare while getting its chest caved in by a bear instead of going for the attack. But these feel like minor annoyances when put against what the game does great.
Creature survival devs, take a page from the original and put mechanical survival goals first!
To anyone who loves the creature survival genre, enjoys learning about wildlife, or just wants to be wolfy, this is absolutely something I would recommend.

Very charming short rpg! The art style is gorgeous, the worldbuilding is wonderful, and the characters all had interesting stories of their own. My sole nitpick from this game was in the writing, a little too much internet speak jokes for my tastes, that will likely date it unfortunately. But its a small nitpick for an otherwise fun game.

scug!

The game is very difficult, but very worth it, don't be afraid to look up a map if you feel lost and hopeless in it and you'll make it through. Gorgeous environments, cool music, great platforming, and an incredibly lifelike ecosystem makes Rain World really stand out to me. If you gave it a shot in the past and became frustrated, give it another go!
Be patient, escape the cycles.
