Levels in combat and professions are zone/episode based, also all your gear becomes irrelevant as soon as you go to the next episode

Game is great in general but there is one thing that annoys me every time i face it and it annoys me so much that i honestly cant play this game anymore. I'm talking about skill checks in cut scenes/dialogues. As it currently works - only the character who started a cut scene can do any skill checks in it.
Imagine you are playing strength based character like fighter or barbarian, naturally you will want to have your character active most of the time, after all it is you in the game. And say you face some kind of magical anomaly or whatever and need to roll arcane skill to understand what it is. Well, you will most likely fail it on your strength character, despite the fact that you have a wizard in your party literally standing beside you who knows a lot about arcane and proficient in arcane, why wouldn't he chime in and roll for that arcane check and explain it to you? This is so immersion breaking and happens almost in every cut scene where there are any skill checks. I know i can load earlier save and start a cut scene with the character who have a needed skill, but this leads to a vicious cycle of saving before every click and loading after every cut scene because i don't know what skills will be checked in a cut scene, very annoying.

Literally all other classic RPG games have a system where character with the highest skill will do a roll check for that skill, or you can pick who will do a roll. After all you are a party of adventurers who solve things together, not 1 character who started cut scene and everybody else as a decoration behind.

TLDR: Locking skill checks to only active character is bad, should check skills against the whole party.
