Received this game for free from a friend to try it out, despite the fact that I urged them not to.
I tried it out despite everything, and was extremely confused based on how the game plays.
My only experience playing a Soul Calibur game was the one on Gamecube, which this feels totally different from.

A very good RPG-focused game, full of replayability, funny references, and secrets.
You can grind, but it isn't necessary. Still very fun to feel OP in this game, though.

Classic cursor shooter.

A cool (and funny) strategy/unit-based game.

Reasons I like: Very nice visuals, cool competitive scene, great attention to detail, gameplay seems intriguing.
Reasons I dislike: May be hard to get into playing initially, plus is kinda laggy if your computer isn't exactly meant for games.

Simply a classic.

A classic which you'll at least enjoy playing again. I find the "bad" parts most people point out about the game to just be kinda funny. 8/10

While I haven't used the Steam version just yet (I'm about to), I just wanted to write a review here about my experience that I've had with it before Terraria's v1.4 update.

I've had a fun time playing with other people's mods and learning to mod by myself. This helped open my eyes to the basics (and harder stuff I'm sure) of making mods. This also lets me express to myself what creativity I have, as well as to others. Showing my family that I can add my own to a game this big may seem like a droplet into an ocean, if at all, but it makes me so happy to see that I can actually do something that feels so big in such a way that is easy to learn.

I just wanna pay my respects to the team who works on this, and to those who have created their mods for this. Your time and effort has put a smile on many people's faces, far from just my own, and I want to thank you for that! This has been some of the most fun I've ever had, no matter what calmness or insanity it may add to the game.

To put this short, I've certainly had my fun with this, with every aspect to it, with little to no downsides to point out. You all have done something big and great. Thank you!

A pretty neat game. I've played only for a short while as of right now, only a couple of hours, but it was a neat little time. Somewhat story oriented, yet you're still free to do your own thing and make up your own stuff. I recommend it.

I personally really enjoy this software! It has great customization for nearly whatever RPG-based game you plan on creating yourself! I couldn't put this down the first few days I had it, to be honest.
