*includes the orchestral music, extra quests, and 2d mode, but likely has the switches downgraded graphics, so it also might be a downgrade in some areas. but at least its cheaper than this

TL;DR
8/10 for the port 11/10 for the game

If you know Dragon Quest, you mostly know what you're getting. That said, this is dragon quest at its best. Good Art by Akira toriyama, classic turnbased combat, and a lot of JRPG tropes with minor twists. If you like that then buy the game, if not, then don't. If you don't know dragon quest, then buy an older game on sale to see if you like it, then come running to this asap.

In terms of the port its not the best job ever, but its a decent one, and reletively well optomized at that for lower settings and my 1050 ti with a slight overclock runs this on medium settings. I'm too lazy to accrately check my fps but I get roughly 60 at 1080p
