EA, but yet already ok.

After putting some more hours into the game there's some more feedback to give.

Game plays well and there is an insane amount of freedom to try things out. Unfortunately trying is prohibitively expensive and it is more than likely one gets stuck with a broken build and character.

There is prolly 12 months of QoL that needs to be put into the game. Old PoE players seem to know their way around but anyone new is fairly lost. A lot of important information is omitted and it is mostly guesswork to find out how things work. This is even more a pressing issue since even if on paper there is some freedom to play around with builds, in reality there isn't.

Trading is totally scuffed and not something that should be around in a game that will be launched in 2025. Trading also seems to be rather important to progress in the game so most of the players are hosed.

I haven't heard much from the devs about even thinking about improvements to QoL and trading, most of communication has been on "content" of which there is already quite a bit available.

Took a while to come out of EA but after a few hours of playing it was well worth it.

BRB, need to expand the NPP.

When the Crust popped into my radar I was quite excited for reasons not exactly clear for me. There was "something" that did appeal in the pre launch materials that made me click.

When the game launched I wasn't expecting it to come out as EA but I did decided to give it a shot.

There is huge amount of potential in the game but there is still years of development to be done for it to fully claim its appeared promises.

As an example when Dyson Sphere Project launched in EA, it was pretty much a complete game already moving the bar a lot higher what the expectations will be. They've added a lot in the past years and DSP is still in EA.

I really hope the Crust will get there eventually. Sadly thumbs down for now but I'm certain I will flip it up when the development catches up.

Edit for Season 2:

I didin't play after previous review but did return for Season 2. Game has improved greatly and while the grind exists there are many ways to make it actually fun.

Game still crashes too much though.

Decent lootershooter that seems to have an active dev team looking to improve the game.

Game is grindy and as such that is not a bad thing but there are too many mechanics that are just mind numbing time sinks with zero fun gameplay involved.

I'll back putting TFD on pause until they come up with a reasonable pity mechanics for drops and find a way to completely remove the joy killing void shard mechanics.

Much fun. A different angle of the Rimworld experience.

(Review shows 0h played in reality I've racked up tens of hours after launch. I got the DLC first through Ludeon website but didn't active the key until now.)

Bit bumpy launch, offline mode is awesome tho!

Lapsed after month of playing. Insane time sink :(

If you like building, Factorio type of games, you will love this.

Very awesome specimen of "let my just play this one more turn" -game. Fun, unexpected and as challenging as you want it to be.

Nice and chill builder simulator. Will play more.
