An incredible, mind-bobbling adventure.

I watched a playthrough of the first game. I was not very hyped by the looks and the gameplay, but found myself enjoying it so much, I decided to play the second one blind. It felt so easy being a spectator, as you get to notice things someone else might overlook, or forget, because they are busy absorbing the content of each case - and in the case of a playthrough, animating it, narrating, making jokes, etc.

I've found it increasingly difficult to progress, as characters multiply, the paths they take, split up and converge; I don't want to get too deep into it, but to end this review :

The Rise of The Golden Idol is a meticulously made game with a very complex story that will have you scrapping your neurons at its mysteries and plot twists. Much like the first game. And DLCs are to be expected, so if you found this game short - look forward to them.

A great game that made me reconsider puzzle games.

Kept me on the edge of my seat until the very end. Seeing the resolution of this episode was thrilling and mind blowing.

John Yakuza returns and saves Tojo Clan.

Again.

The atmosphere is amazing. You can do anything. And there are little penguin buddies to venture with !

I completed the game in 2 hours. But those were most likely some of the best hours spent on a game.
It's beautiful despite its age. I love it so much. So short, but so meaningful. There so much to see, so much to do.

Randomly encountering people in game without anything more to communicate than weird bell sounds, it's actually funny.

It's been years this little piece of love came out but it's still great
You're never done with it, and it always manages to surprise you
Just wait until you can pop a solid 200K damage on crits, you'll love pounding your weapon into every bad guy's mouth

Big plus: It's good, old retro graphics, references, one of the boss is French (so easy to deal with), nice soundtracks
Big minus: Puts big developpers into foetal position, will sometimes drive you to tears if you're sensible

Can't wait for Specter of Torment to come out. Legit watch the trailers for each extension
