just a boringly structured rehashing of every demonssoulsbornefield-type that came before in the last 15 years. Previous FROM games had a world design and verticality and a level of personal touch that made exploration interesting; traversing flat planes filled with meaningless pickups in a static, underdesigned world isn't interesting, it's a slog. Adding pretty colours to your skybox doesnt make your flat boxes of gamespace any less boring to traverse. And the few castles that are meant to be designed as actual levels are just outright worse than in older games. Someone on the level design team really didn't want to be there. The biggest (only) advancement they made to the gameplay since ♥♥♥ Demons Souls (2009) was jumping...JUMPING...and it doesn't even add anything to the gameplay itself other than being an alternate roll with a plunging attack behind it. Nothing notable has changed in this 'series' since 2009. That's just pathetic. I can't imagine the kind of meek geek that would ever want to play this overstretched walking sim more than once, even if he did enjoy it. I remember when the chalice dungeons were laughed at for being so lazy. I'm unsure what's more damning - realising that a reskinned asylum demon is all you're gonna get or realising that the reskined capra demon is all you're gonna get.
