One of my favorites, I'm not sure if X or VII is better. [edit 2023: i like 10 better sorry liberarls]

PROS:

• Amazing soundtrack. I would put many of these songs on my MP3.
  
• Great Sphere Grid system, a nice change of pace than the regular level system found in other FF games.
  
• Wonderful story. Found myself tearing up at the end (but I cry at a lot of things so eh)
  
• Lots of end-game. So much so that I've been playing 82 hours and still can't beat Dark Valefor.
  
• Blitzball. Forget about saving Spira for a while and play some soccer! Except it's better than soccer. And it's underwater.
  
• Graphics. They hold up really well!

CONS:

• haw haw haw haw
  
• Some of the end-game is extremely tedious (200 lightning dodges quest)

There are probably more cons, but I love this game too much to notice. 7 is probably better, but 10 is still a gem.

This game is absolutely stunning. This game basically takes all of the features you got for being deluxe, doubles it, and redoes the looks and everything. So far, the reviews have been 39 (40) positive to 0 negative, and its for a damn good reason. Read the other reviews. They'll tell you a lot more about it than I ever could.

edit: 8 years after this review, the game is still active at almost 2k players and receiving really good updates. freakin sweet

TL;DR at the bottom, although this isn't a very long review.

I have played Realm of the Mad God for many years, and it has gone through a lot of changes.
For a year or so, Kabam bought WildShadow Studios and fused ROTMG into a Pay-for-Advantage game and everyone hated it. A lot of the community left after that.
But if you give it another shot, you'll see that everything can be obtained thru just playing the game.

Skins, cloth, and bonus weapons can be obtained from a new addition called the Tinkerer. Complete all 4 of his quests, (they reset each day,) and you will get an alchemy orb. Use an alchemy orb for a chance to get one of the featured items. Weapons can be obtainable by Oryx, event bosses, and dungeon bosses. So can armor, eggs, and pots. (potions that increase your max stat by 1)

I encourage you to give this game another shot if you haven't already. It's not filled with nearly as much third-party websites, although there still are a couple. There's over 500 enemies to fight and they're all unique. And the loot is so very satisfying to get. The PAIN in your chest when you die is still there (I'm not joking it LEGITIMATELY HURTS YOUR SOUL WHEN YOUR CHARACTER DIES) so why shouldn't you give this another go?

TL;DR, I give this game an 8/10 for what it is right now. It's still not rid of all of the P4A, but it's damn near close.

A more fun and less pay for advantage approach instead of Firefall. Only things I must complain about is the framerate, but other than that, amazing!
