The game is very much enjoyable with friends.

One major thing that has always been in an issue with OW is Balancing. OW1 had very little balancing because a major patch would only come around 1/2 times a year (hence why the game fell off hard in 2018), which OW2 receives patches twice a season (yay!). But with the introduction of 5v5, it has made some roles un-enjoyable depending on which role is most powerful for that season.

So overall the game is fun to play casually with some friends, but if you are looking to get into this game competitively and for a long time, I would look to others in the meantime.
