when your stuck in a zone and the map is red and your car wont start. did you bring your jumper cables and gas can?
the zone had closed and here i was stuck with no fuel no battery and barely any life left in me, I pushed on. grabbed the jumper cables and gas can and went to work on 20% life.
I had the jump already locked in and waiting half way across the map.
it was me, Melody *the car*, and a mile of puke, spit, anomolies, and anything else the zone could throw at me to get to that gate.
did i make it? you bet.
I learned something that day: if i didn't have the gear in the car i would have been dead.
my heart was racing irl and i was starting to panic.
THAT my friends is a good game.
as the saying goes "if at first you don't succeed, try until you get it right"
you like survival? crafting? exploring on limited time? a good story?
get the dam game.

Do you like hats?
Do you like running around a giant map full of locations and side quests?
Do you like simple combat with optional abilities to use?
Do you like weird animals?
if you answered yes to the first question then this game is for you!
because there are more hats in loot boxes than anything else...seriously.
ok.. honestly i put 80 hours into this game and reached level 50 with a ton of points left. without even touching the main story.
the game is fun, and unique. there is a bit of repetition and the dialogue needs work but with some TLC the game will be at its best in a year. If you haven't bought it yet and waiting for sales thats fine, I pre ordered. *im compulsive that way*
all in all don't listen to opinions or salt listen to your gut. watch some streams of game play and determine if you want it or not. personally i love the game and know many that feel the same. its solid with A LOT of hats...

I give it 9 hats out of 10.

Disclaimer: If you have a fear of the far depths of the ocean, fear of things eating you or your toes from beneath the water, fear of something being below you you cannot see, This game WILL scare you.

Subnautica
A game that takes place on a water world plagued by many things with several stories to tell *many spoilers available* yet, a depth of wonderful story telling one can find on their own pace. with fish, lots of variaties of fish.
The worlds within this game are graphically amazing with such color and hue's as you travel across the 3000 - 4000 meter map. The sounds in this game range from deep dark tones to light energizing ones, with fantastic *and scary* animal sounds ranging from the Peeper's to the Leviathan classed Reapers. All-in-all the environment within this game is top notch.
The background music and included soundtrack is beautiful thanks to Simon Chylinski

If you have never played the game during its development stages then your in for a treat! if you played the game before final release, alot has changed and I would recommend giving it a try again.

Being able to spend your hours either in creative mode building and exploring to your hearts content without reprecussions or attempting survival mode living on food and water or the toughest, one life one death mode hoping you don't have to restart, the game has plenty of options available for your enjoyment.

Subnautica does have a few flaws and doesn't fit the types of games or challenges some players like or prefer. It's not for everybody BUT for those who like open world, exploration, being scared to death at any moment, and love to build, this game may be up your alley. I can't tell you to GO BUY IT NOW! because each person has their own opinions of a game. Me, I recommend it because i love the game and play it for hours on end.

The game is beautiful in its unique design, its challenging, frightening, entertaining, and has a great story at its heart without throwing it in your face. The downside? what downside? oh, there might be a few;
Phobia's of anything related to oceans, deep water, dark tight places, ect. this game will most likely trigger in some way. Some creatures can be annoying like the warpers who will "teleport" you out of your vehicle, creaters invading your 'habitat' like fish on occasion *which for the most part has been patched*, and grinding for materials to build.
again, there are not a lot of downsides to this game thanks to the dev's being dedicated to the game.

You either love or hate the game *or any game for that matter* I can only give my opinion of the game. Buy it, try it, you may not be disappointed, you might, either way I think its a great game that has come a long way from where it started.

I spent 10 hrs last night playing this game, in ONE sitting! Just buy the game already!

This is an amazing game with our current standerds in mind; graphics, layout, ease of use. It is a well polished game with its own unique style, and it's addictive. VERY addictive.
pluses: Animatronics! simple terrain editing *it looks like wheat bread!*, buildings, tons of options and selections.

The only thing about this game that i found somewhat limiting is the amount of content but, Im sure there will be additional packs etc to add. Yet, to contradict that, you can edit and design your own stuff and convert them into "blueprints" which allows you to create your own unique content.
Lastly, editing the pathways can be somewhat daunting at times. why? curved paths, or round paths are difficult to obtain and hard to perfect. your given a little more freedom to move your paths around and shape them but wont be perfect.

So stop reading this rediculous review and JUST BUY THE GAME! BUY IT NOW! let it suck the life out of you while you play hours on end.

Fun, entertaining, challenging, and best of all rewarding.
Over all, a great game with few flaws and a solid story line. Howerver, being one who is not 'quick' with quick actions it took me quite a few tries throughout the game to get things correct. There are a bit of difficult situations in the game that became overly frustrating in "adventurer" mode which, i thought, was harder than should have been.
I completed the game in 26 hours with 78% completion and that is including the DLC. So, the game is somewhat short but in my opinion well worth the money.
I will say the end boss fight was indeed very much satisfying when finished.
It's up to you if its worth purchasing, me? i purchased the deluxe edition which includes the season pass.

This game makes me want to purchase a flight control stick. keyboard and mouse? bah. Before you play change your keybindings because this game will make you nausious with spins. There is a serieous learning curve for those who do not normally play space sims, myself included. Otherwise, don't start playing because you will not stop. Well. you might but you WILL come back. I recommend getting Voice Attack and possibly Autohotkey for this game, add's to the experience and seems to help with controls.
All in all, I learned alot just playing tutorials and enjoyed it emensly. Hence, I want a stick to make my recks more enjoyable. lol
