I had my eye on this game for a while - thinking it would probably be charming enough for me to pass a few hours on - ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ was i wrong. This is a true gem, and at the 70 cents i bought it at it sure is a steal.

You play a nameless (well, you name them) "hero" - you are destined to save the world from the ever spreading darkness - swallowing up the world and creating monsters.
You create a character from one of the starting classes - swordsman, knight etc - all with their own advantages and specialties, and can enhance them further at the start with perks.
Then you pick a world from one of the daily specialties, randomly generate your own to type in some gibberish or word to generate one. (this way if you got a world you like you can get it back again).
The game plays as a kinda turn based action RPG - there are a few different weapon types (which you can use any of, not limited by class - though some classes are better with certain gear) with their own uses - spears can hit two blocks away, axes are generally less accurate but are strong as sh*t and break walls and boxes easily, swords being a middle ground. All weapons are limited by their durability and all can be upgraded with items you find (and repaired). When you die (or win, or suicide) the game ends and you get an evaluation score of your playthrough - the better you do the more points you get, which can then be spent on permanent upgrades (new classes, perks and increasing your bank size).
The bank is where you can store your most prized items at the end of a playthrough - you can also withdraw from the bank at the start of a playthrough.

There are numerous companions you can get to travel with you, some with hidden or unique ways to access. They can help in battle and protect you from hits - though if they die you lose them... so be careful. There are also a bunch of different endings and ways to finish the game, which i shouldnt really spoil - google them if you want to.

Every few turns the left side of the screen will move to the right and basically force you onwards - so dont go dungeon hunting too long or you might get stuck against a wall as you are swallowed by the darkness.

Gameplay Fun: 8/10
Replayability: 9/10
Graphics: 7/10 - (this being i like the art style as opposed to it being cutting edge :P )
Sound: 7/10
Addictiveness: 8/10

Get this game, it is easily worth the money - you *will* enjoy it.

EDIT:

Also the expansion kicks ass. I only paid like 50 cents for this when i got it, so i paid full price on that. Might seem a little wierd blowing 6 Dolla'hs on an expansion when you paid less than a pound on the base game, but its totally worth the money.
