One of the better PC ports of a Final Fantasy Game that SE has done. The new HD Character Models on both Players and Enemies look great. The Battle system remains as solid as always. And it seems fairly untouched from its PS1 days. The Soundtrack sounds like its straight from the original and the Menus can be mouse driven if wanting to play with Keyboard also.

Only a couple gripes. The prerendered backgrounds look a little fuzzy at the higher resolutions, and the new models make this very apparant. And whilst able to play full screen at any res, it seems the Gameplay is limited to its 4:3 window.

If you can look past that though, its the same great game from the PS1, finally on PC. Pick it up if you haven't already

Edutainment at its finest.

Zoombinis has been reclaimed from the gaming abyss of the past to bring a rush of nostalgia to those who played it in their youth, as well as a challenging puzzle and logic game for children and early teens.
The charm this game exudes makes it a delight to play over and over, and the branching path in the middle allows for a mix up of the puzzles each time to prepare to journey.

The Updated art work keeps the charm of the original game, and the soundtrack is exactly how I remember it from 15 odd years ago, and it hasn't lost any of its enjoyment.

I highly recommend this game to Puzzle lovers, Edutainment lovers and to Parents wanting to give their children a charming education game with a lot of heart and replayability.

Zoombinis is just as good now as it was then, and I cannot state enough how good it is to see it back.

This Game is one of my favorites.
Final Fantasy V is up there with IV and VI for me in terms of likeability. This however, whilst being the Game I love and remember, is not the same.

If you are looking for a solid RPG, with a great Job system and Music. Final Fantasy V is the way to go, but not this version.

Whilst the Music is stellar as always, and the Monster Sprites look wonderfully updated, the Charm has gone.

The Character sprites are more lifeless in this version than the original SNES/PS1 version.
Some of the Menu's don't fit in full screen, The retranslation doesn't capture the humour of Original ports, as well as the sprites lifeless expressions.

Maybe it is my nostalgia that is blinding me, but I know I can turn on a Gameboy Advance, or use the PSN port of the original to have that charm recaptured.

Also - One character sprite completely ruins a Plot moment in the Game, and I think it is ridiculous that the updated design was allowed.

This feels like the iOS port was just made for Full Screen, and a little sloppily at that.

So overall, as an RPG, I can recommend Final Fantasy V

As a Final Fantasy V fan, I cannot recommend this version of it.
