I am a veteran Monster hunter Trii and World player (Iceborn done, I have the yellow name acquired)

I will try to tell what happened in the correct order I experienced things.

Too much time to preload stuff. Too much time to set the settings as they should be from the start.
Grey borders appears on the sides of my 21:9 screen in menues and in game.
Game starts. Characters are annoying and not that much realistic. Too much over reaction from every character and one character is over sexualized. Characters dialogues are annoying, I skip most of them when I can.
This new entry in the franchise takes you by the hand. I feel like being considered to be a dumb player that has to be led to everything. I very often have to put my controller on my desk and wait for things to happen (sekret doing his own life and cinematics hidden in "gameplay"...). Very often, I cannot go out of the beaten path, my character is brought back forcefully on the track.
Also the menu graphics are poor : World had better UX and UI.

I found multiple bugs (I can start a craft of an armor I already have but without components available, I cannot upgrade my armor... etc). The devs / beta testers didn't try to see if they could try to upgrade before unlocking the ability to do so... 4 hours in the game to reaalize the feature was just locked... lmao, the menu is telling lies.

Monster Hunter was one of my go to licenses in the past. Not anymore.

The gameplay is solid as any other entry in the licence. A good point with the sweet transition after the character creation. But if I am reduced to tell that the core gameplay is the main good point, it means nothing evolved.

Day 2 : I experiment regular freezes. Tested yesterday and today.

Day 3 : I finally find some enjoyement in the game after the main credits rolled. The game main issuue now is fps drops. The 15 hours tutorial was really bad but now I chave some actual freedom.

Day X, 50 hours ingame : Well. I did everything the game had to offer (every side quests and main missions). I now want to go back to World, a game that have its issues but at least a game that encourage the player to explore and do things on his own.

For the moment, at 30 hours, the game shows more flaws than good stuff.

Too much grind. Bugs everywhere in any kinds. Everything is made to aim the player toward the market and premiums as a phone game would nowadays.
As much as I like the graphics, the artistic vision, the fast paced action and the lore... I can't globally recommend this game.

Awsome game.
It has been a long time since I sincerly enjoyed playing a solo / coop game like this.
Dialogues and jokes are on point, the flow is great and I feel like a part of the adventure.
Gearbox made a game as they would have loved it to be and it feels. Everytime I complete a narator saying something with a funny pun, the game actually DOES the pun itself afterward ! We are in synch.
Really great.

I could say difficulty is almost non-existant on the other hand... but to be honest, it is not really the selling point of Tiny Tina's Wonderland. Just enjoy the narration and playing with your friends in a crazy world !

I've been playing monster Monster hunter trii on Wii and this "Monster hunter : World" had many good promises.
It is indeed a really high polished game on a graphics point of view and is really pleasant to play until you get to late high rank quests.

I must however say that some steps are completly artificial and difficulty is annoyingly done wrong. At some point in your adventure you will be unable to not equip anti-stun jewels and health augment because monsters will become too fast AND too strong at the same time.
You will find yourself in these situations taking 1, 2, 3 hits in a row (hit-registration) and the game punishes you even more for taking hits since you will get stunned (hence the anti-stun jewels).
Playing a different weapon is sometimes better... Gunlance might have a huge advantage against a certain monkey monster but not against a monster able to make AOE novas... I play mostly with a kinsect glaive, dual sword and sword&shield and the game is already much much different with these three. Sheathing time is not the same for all weapons, it has a big impact on dying or not to OHKO attacks from certain monsters. I wanted to be able to do all monster with my main weapons, not being forced into a more efficient one that also recquire specific jewels to be played at high rank... (you can't block certain attacks using a lance and a shield so you MUST equip something for it... and you must have the luck to loot it).
It is a disaster for master rank arch tempered monsters and Alatreon, almost nobody in multiplayer does know how to handle these monsters and I was forced to break the fourth wall to google informations about Alatreon and Fatalis (which I have yet to beat for the latest btw... at 500hours+ in the game). I did Arch-tempered Namielle at least 20 times and won only once... I can almost beat it in solo play but I lack damages with a rarity 12 weapon. Multiplayer is a joke with friendly fire knockbacks and random idiots not equipped with correct elemental resistances... I play support "sword&shield wide-range vaal hazak" at the moment and my job is driving me mad !

So, if you are looking for a hard game, it is one... but not for the good reasons most of the time in end-game.
My opinion is half good and half bad. Good graphics, poor story but ok, good gameplay overall, poor difficulty management.

Edit : I managed to beat Arch tempered namielle enough times to build the gama armor. I am now playing bow. This weapon requires ammunitions unlike the classical blade weapons. Money investment is high and all slots of the farm are dedicated to mushrooms still uneficiently. I would like a real "farm" area to develop, something more engagin than melding stuff in a magical cauldron and the small botanical research area. I still can't do alatreon and Fatalis (unless a pro player comes in). I wonder why my damages are so low as my gameplay is "bow dancing" now. Also, even if my damages are low, why would I get punished for it by Alatreon? My first priority is not to dish out tremendeous damages, it is to survive and dodge everything. Eeeeeh....

Second Edit at 750h : I can farm Fatalis now, I understand the mecanics better. Well... To be honest, now that MH Wilds is out, I must reflect on what World gave to me. World had issues but the core game in itself was "Monster Hunter" unlike the new Wilds. The marketing of selling a DLC was a backstab when I remember the team saying that they would not do such a thing and they would instead focus on building World to be the ultimate Monster Huunter game. However, after waiting for a price on said DLC, I realised that for once, a paid DLC was almost worth the money I could have paid it at full price. Iceborn was one hell of a good addition that should have been in the base game from the start to prove the team cared about veterans and players looking for challenges. And now that I see Wilds... and what they are doing with it at Capcom after everything they lerned through World... urrrg... In fact, I will come back and play World from time to time. The User Experience is better in World : better UI, nothing is over-assisted, you get a reall sensation of freedom and ingeniosity when you discover areas or new ways of agencing jewels in your armors in order to beat a certain monster in particular... and the story is simple but at least you don't want to skip every cinematics because they have reaall lasting impact here ! In world, in the end-game of Iceborn to be fair, you have to work your ass to get what you want and I liike it. I'm changing my review to : good.

I am level 30 in-game. I have more hours on the old hirez launcher.

CONS :
* Bugs outside of the game like the chat auto-closing before you can type all your sentence in the character selection and menues in general.
* Stupid UX :
- item shop interface sucks
- custom character item builder sucks (compared to league of legends, it is a f* joke!)
- old UI
- MAIN MENU IS THRASH! Can't find what I want before trying all buttons at least once! Try to ask a new player to find the way to change his ward skin for example! Or to find his custom builds! ETC...! It badly needs a full revamp.
* Old game with old graphics. The animation is done by hand on a classic skeleton... unhuman motions on animations.

PROS :
* I like the core gameplay
* There is a giant wolf and a giant snake >:3
* Many modes
* Great VGS from hi-rez (shortcuts for team communication via pre recorded voicelines)

Frankly, I bought Rust because I got bored of "ARK : survival evolved". Taming creatures forever was becoming a pain in the ass for me that actually wants to build machines instead of using slaves (creatures).
And you know what? I kinda liked to be able to do stuff without major bugs like ARK has and I was starting to like Rust... but then I understood some things and it started to go down really fast :
- You have to roam forever for RANDOM blueprints to be able to craft stuff
- You will get raided by stuffed russians and chinese on EU servers even if you are naked and without stuff. The community is trash because the game allows it. The game get the community it deserves.
- Talking about chinese and russians on EU, try to guess what is the most spoke language on these servers? I loggued into three different ones and each time, it is russian flooded.
- There is no solo, you are forced into playing on a dedicated server.
- Procedural maps can be so broken that you can't find "cloth". It happenned to me on my first server, then I changed to another server after getting my ass wiped during my sleep... and surprise, there was hemp bushes on this map!
- Rust is a simulator of getting killed over and over without chances to fight back. There is no hideouts to start small hidden away from higher geared players, you just spawn on a very flat map giving your position away for miles.
- Rust like ARK, is aimed for people playing in dumb groups... but I am a smart solo player.

That's it for me, I played 8h or so and I will go back to minecraft. At least on minecraft, I can hide myself and craft everything by myself without getting spawn killed or progression-locked by random loots (blueprints).
...And I bought Rust 33€... to get that...

Early Access Review
Farming for farming. Hard leveling capping by a TIMER. Bad UX. Bad storage logic. A ♥♥♥♥ ton of bugs in all directions.
Oh and btw, multiplayer is only supported on windows server even if there is a linux client available. You won't be able to expose your server publicly if you run a windows VM due to a bug...

Great core idea, poor realisation. REALLY POOR REALISATION.

Such a shame.
