Early Access Review
PRINCIPIA: Master of Science is a fun game that will waste about 4 hours of your life.
The game mechanics are very simple, and overall the game does not have a lot of complexity.

The graphics are very simplistic, the music is very loud with no way to adjust it aside from using the computer's volume mixer. There are no achievements, although there are some "events" like becoming an official of a science academy/getting sired, so I supposed by the time the game leaves early access it might support achievements.

Personally I found the gameplay very repetitive, you are essentially doing research on a topic and waiting your turn to, again, do your research on the said topic. The funds you procure cannot be used to found your own university or fund science labs, as you only use the money to buy "tools" which boost your skill in a select science.

Overall, I would rate this game a solid 4.5/10, it's pretty fun for the first 10 or so minutes, but it has limited replayability. The only reason why I played this long was because I was grinding it to 100% completion.

Yet another game that promised so much and delivered so little. Did I pre-order it? No. I bought it the day after it launched, thinking I would stream it and showcase the game of the year candidate. And yet, what I experienced can be described as something akin to an unfinished product rushed to release mode. In order to release the game as is, the developers removed about 2/3 of the game content promised, and overall, the experience currently can be described as: wait for letterbox to fade out, wait for the stupid menu click to go through, recharge this and that, craft the same parts and spend about 2-3 hours pimping out your exosuit, multitool, and lastly, your ship. With all of that done, you now have "anything's possible" game world where you can turn on an animation of hyperdrive warping by using the galactic map, then recharge your ship's components, and go to the center of the galaxy. In the next galaxy, rinse and repeat until you do the same thing. Some guy got to 11th galaxy and yet everything was exactly the same. Different galaxies did not have a different gravity or star types or anything unique other than the name. Races were all the same. Languages were all the same.

So, all in all, do I recommend the game? HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEL NO BOYYYYYY.
$60 by a AAA company is a lot, so our expectations are high.
$60 by an INDY company is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, so our expectations were above high... they were "at the center of the galaxy" high.

Of course if you think paying $60 for grinding about 3 hours to get everything in the game is worth your time and money, go ahead. Personally, I am requesting a refund, and I will be rating Hello Games 1 star wherever and whenever I get a chance to. Even with mods, which have already addressed some of the issues like letterboxing removal, annoying hint removal, changed or removed warp animations, it'll be a while before any decent mods with custom content will arrive. The biggest problem is that the game engine itself is fairly limited, so you will never have the features they claimed to be a part of the game.

Oh, if you are looking for a GREAT game with most of what NMS claimed to offer, check out Starmade, it is a voxel based game(minecraft-like) for about $15. You can build your own ship, big or small, customized by you from insde to outside, each weapon system can be custom built, factories, limitless galaxies and solar systems, asteroids, pirates, factions, and multiplayer for a quarter of NMS price.

A simple strategic turn-based game that allows you to build up your planet, invade the enemy, and finally, conquer the enemy. The best part of this game is the multiplayer, because fighting against players is always a tougher challenge than just facing AI.

The graphics and sounds are well-done, so overall, this game delivers great aesthetics. I would recommend this game as a great casual game that you can play with your friends on a laptop in a small get-together, because it's one of those games that you can play at your own pace.
