I was disappointed by what I had heard about this game at its initial release and held off for a very long time. Compared to Wildlands, the story is lackluster and even boring at times. At least, I did not feel motivated to sit through every cutscene.

However, this game is a fantastic tactical shooter. The movement, the gunplay, the terrains/buildings and map design are just fantastic. This game has great optimization, co-op is smooth, and I have experienced no network issues or latency. Some of them are repetitive, but in my experience the missions have good variability and replayability.

With mod support and so much customization in-game, you can shape the experience to your preferred play style. I truly think, after having invested a 100 hours in this game, that this is one of the best tactical shooters ever made. If you're looking for a challenging/milsim experience, and you don't really care much about the story, I would recommend buying this game on sale and playing on conquest mode. If you're somebody who didn't enjoy this game at launch, definitely give it another try.

Fantastic game that builds on top of the original, adding new features without cluttering or detracting from the experience. I recommend this to anyone who enjoys strategy games.

I primarily utilize Door Kickers 2 as a tool to practice CQB tactics. Pairs well with mods, just like the original. You can also find custom Ready or Not maps on here, so it's also a great tool to use in conjunction with RoN for mission planning/simulation.

If you're getting this game just to mod, like I did, I absolutely recommend against it. However, if you've just been introduced to the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series, I do recommend that you play through all three games to know the storylines.

Modders, I suggest that you check out Call of Chernobyl if you're thinking of buying this just for modding. It's free and it combines the maps of all three games together. You can make choose your own faction and make your own story. Everything about CoC is great, and if you haven't heard about it yet, do go check it out. Thanks.

Excellent mod support and several active, custom servers. Very good gunplay and AI, arguably better than Sandstorm. The learning curve can be pretty steep at first, but in my experience the community is great and willing to help new players. The graphics also hold up today, so that's an added bonus!

This is the benchmark for all competitive shooters. The gunplay and maps are nothing special, but they are a testament to the long-standing history of Counter-Strike and e-Sports. Simple to play, difficult to master, and very rewarding.
