Overall Rating: 8/10

Men of War II is a solid strategy game that should satisfy fans of the series. It has its flaws, but there's a lot to like here, making it worth a spot in your game library.

I appreciate the single-player content, which offers a good variety of missions. As someone who mainly plays solo, it’s nice to see that the game isn’t just focused on multiplayer. The different gameplay modes keep things fresh, and the game is fast-paced and smooth, with many quality-of-life improvements compared to previous titles.

Adding a realism mode is a really good move for those who want a more authentic experience. Although finding it in the settings can be tricky, enabling realism mode can change some of the more unrealistic aspects of the game, making it feel more grounded. The co-op mode is also a lot of fun and works well, making it easy to enjoy with friends. Visually, the game looks good, with nice graphics that enhance the overall experience without being overly demanding on your system.

However, there are some areas where the game could improve. The requirement to be online for single-player is a big downside. A patch is in the works to fix this, but it should have been addressed before launch. The UI needs work too—the minimalist design with small, transparent buttons can be confusing, and commands are scattered between the hotbar and the bottom right window, making it hard to navigate.

The way troops are spaced apart looks unnatural, and vehicles like the T34 move too quickly. These elements need tweaking for a more realistic feel, which can be adjusted somewhat by enabling realism mode. Having engineers and medics arrive from off-map is a mixed bag. It reduces micromanagement but breaks immersion a bit and might take some getting used to. There are also some minor bugs, like horses moving erratically and issues with fortifications. These aren’t game-breaking but can be annoying.

Some common criticisms from other players seem exaggerated or misinformed. The game shows vehicle health bars, unlike previous titles where they were hidden, but you can turn this off if you don’t like it. I found the UI and controls more intuitive and responsive compared to older games in the series. This game isn’t a copy of GoH or MoWAS2. It’s a new entry with its own style, offering a new experience while keeping familiar elements.

Overall, Men of War II is a good addition to the franchise. While it has some issues, it’s still a fun and engaging strategy game. If you’re a fan of the series, you’ll likely appreciate what it offers. The developers seem to be listening to feedback, so there’s hope for improvements down the line.

I recommend Men of War II to fans who know what to expect and enjoy strategic gameplay.
