Intercept Games closed their doors, so don't buy this game unless it gets pulled out of developer-less limbo somehow. What is there is barebones early-access stuff; good graphics, but missing a lot of content, and in the face of Take-Two's radio silence, it's safe to assume the best case is that it's just going to stay this way, which kinda sucks.

Maybe things will change in the future, but right now, this is basically abandonware.

The game is fun; keep an eye out, though, because Sony, the publisher, has not been acting great.

I do recommend playing with a controller, it's a lot smoother.

Absolutely fantastic entry in the Ace Combat series, really top-notch. Gorgeous graphics, fun gameplay, challenging bosses, a very wild, shonen-anime plot line, and some of the best music you could ever hope for. If you like arcade flight games, this one is well worth picking up. My only complaint is that I can never experience it for the first time ever again.

Know that right now, this game is in early access for a reason; it has some issues and glitches and weird stuff, so if that isn't to your liking, maybe wait until the game is more polished.

It is very fun, though, and so far, I haven't encountered any issues that make the game utterly unplayable, just minor annoyances/things I think could be a bit better, especially with some of the foreground terrain in some locations.

Worth getting if you want to support the devs and are willing to put up with a game that's rough around the edges; this game has tons of potential, and I can't wait to see how good it becomes!

A phenomenal arcade flight sim game; if you're here because you've played Ace Combat and found yourself wanting more, this game is for you.

It's not a perfect game: I caught a battleship or two sailing on a path that took them through land, and sometimes I wasn't a fan of some of the background voice acting. It can also seem a little harsh sometimes, because unlike Ace Combat, there aren't mid-level checkpoints in Project Wingman (something the devs do warn you about early on in the game)

But it has so much going for it; an absolutely killer soundtrack, accompanied by excellent sound design. An incredible array of widely varied aircraft, and with the ability to fit more than one kind of weapon to the hardpoints, it has an edge over Ace Combat 7, allowing for varied multi-role loadouts.

And the story! I didn't go into this game expecting much more than what I got with Ace Combat 7; I expected a decent story, with plenty of awesome moments where I get to be a badass.

This game delivered so much more than I was prepared for; I found myself drawn in, I became emotionally invested more than I thought I would. (I'm being vague because I don't want to spoil it!)

All in all, definitely worth picking up if you love these kinds of arcade flight sim games.

It's a fun game, and it does bring some new things to the table, but ultimately it's really just a glorified Civ V mod. I enjoy it, but it's not worth full price by a long shot; get it on sale if you're going to get it, but tbh I would recommend a different space empire-builder like Stellaris, becaue this one isn't super satisfying.

Alliance is a slightly different experience from the main Guns of Icarus: Online game. Rather than trying to outsmart and defeat an opposing team of human players, you and maybe some friends are pitted against swarms of enemy AI-controlled ships, and given a bunch of varying gamemodes to play, ranging from point-defense to hunting down enemies and escorting a VIP ship.

I love Guns of Icarus: Online, and I think that what Alliance brings to the table in terms of game types, new ships and abilities and weapons, and the faction-based gameplay is a wonderful addition that really enhances the experience.

Having used some of the new ships and weapons in the Alliance open beta-testing periods, I can say that without a doubt they are all really cool, and while they are powerful weapons and tough, rugged ships, I can honestly say that the enemies are balanced to keep it challenging, especially with the addition of large raid-boss type enemy ships.

It is definitely worth getting if you love Guns of Icarus: Online.

It was a very good, very fun game for a while; then the devs started messing with stuff and really seemed to stop caring about player feedback.

They made a game mode (coincidentally, my favorite game mode at the time) only accessible for the highest-tier bots; there is nothing wrong with that, except that the game mode that most players were left with gave us WAY less in-game currency for winning.
They removed what was a very fun tech tree, that allowed for a lot of customization, and replaced it with level advancement. Not totally a bad thing, but it stopped feeling like I was advancing; the tech tree gave me a million choices regarding what parts to unlock. The system they switched to was linear; you go up a level, you unlock a new part. It felt like going through the motions of advancement without any real sense of achievement.

And by gods, the Pay To Win was overwhelming when I stopped playing; apparently the only balance Freejam understands is their bank account balance.

And I get it; you can't make games for free.

But Freejam decided that they care more about how to suck as much money out of as many people as possible, rather than what would make the game experience better for their playerbase.

I'm not kidding, at one point when they were messing around with new game modes, they explicitly said that "only NEW player feedback was being considered", because they wanted to know "whether it affected retention or not".

And it was such ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. You can't make an accurate comparison between gamemodes when all of your feedback from both modes are from people who only experienced one mode; that isn't how that works.

And as a veteran player, it hurt immensely to hear that my opinions weren't even being read.

It's such a shame; I loved playing this game early on. The concept is fun and exciting, and Freejam really could've made something great out of this.

But instead, it seems all they care about is sucking as much money out of as many people as they can.

This is the game that I have wanted since I was little kid, playing Star Wars Battlefront 2. It is absolutely amazing.
The space combat involves both small fighters and large captial ships, fighting it out either for control points or to destroy/defend targets.
The ground combat has the same objectives, and also a multitude of vehicles (including APCs, tanks, and even a gunship!).

The level of customization is incredible; there are a lot of weapons and upgrades, meaning you can play just about however you want. And that extends into most of the vehicles and fighters, too!

The combat itself feels both organic and tactical, with either a player or the AI acting as a commander for the entire team issuing orders to be carried out by squad leaders, who have two squad members to help them.

I wish there was a better system for giving commands, though; it sometimes is a little tricky targeting objectives to order your team to attack them.

And the UI isn't the best; it often feels a little clunky, and new; however, this is a big thing the devs are working on.

Also important is that the devs have devoted and continue to devote a lot of time and energy into improving this game; the most recent update took a while to come out, but it was also a very large update with a lot in it.

I find that I experience quite a bit of lag sometimes, especially in ground battles; but that's another thing the devs are devoting time to fixing, and it has improved quite a bit since I started.

My only other complaint is that it has a small player base for some reason; I don't really know why, it is an amazing game that is so much fun to play with actual people instead of bots.
