Should be a must have for fans of the WOD. It does a good job of portraying the bleak atmosphere and what it feels like to be a fledgling, in a world that you no longer understand. It stays faithful to the source material, and to the VTM cannon.

Does the visual novel system work?

Short answer? Yes! The visual novel structure seems to fit the quirky nature of the World of Darkness quite well. It puts into perspective both what the protagonist might feel, and the limited way he interprets the world around him as in inexperienced fledgling, hoping to live long enough to become a neonate. As a storytelling medium, i hope more iterations will come out in the future.

Mood and Ambiance

The music isn't very memorable, but it fits the graphic style and setting perfectly! All three combined knit together an eerie atmosphere that can follow you throughout the day, even after you stop playing. There are a few moral choices, but the story itself still feels organic. It still conveys a story about flawed individuals, and their attempt to hold on to their lost Humanity. And for me at least, that's exactly what any first contact with the WOD should be all bout.

Should you buy this?

Yes! The game has a lot of potential, and could be a start for a new direction for both WOD fans and more indie devs to explore. Supporting the devs and encouraging them to make more games like this one will result in more polished and more varied mediums for people to explore VTM and all of its subtle intricacies.
