The developers of Sacred 1 and 2 lost their franchise rights when Ascaron went out of business, but they've formed a new studio and are working on Sacred's spiritual successor under a new name. But for all basic accounts it's the actual Sacred 3.

Also, Steam will give you one good will refund, no questions asked, if you contact support. Just one, but hey, what better time to use it than now?
