Nova Drift's appeal to me lies in how amazingly minimalist the UI is: There is somehow no lack of information, and no overbearing interface. Everything is intuitive and very clean, from the menus to the mods, the presentation is consistently solid and elegant. One of my first "oh that's clever" moments happened when I picked up the Warp shield.

Most shields in this game are visually represented by two circles: the smaller one is just cosmetic, to indicate your shield's up, and the bigger one is your Shield Effect Radius, and means that, whenever X is inside it, it triggers the shield's special ability. Warp teleports you whenever your shield breaks. where does it teleport you?

Well, Warp's shield radius is a reticle's orbit. That reticle. You teleport to wherever that reticle is.

No text, No crosshair, No timestop. Just clean, concise, well thought-out game design.
