It clearly apparent that a lot of what happens in The Witcher 1 is not very present in The Witcher 2, though, I'm sure more will come into play during the final chapter. That being said, this game starts out incredibly slow, and was much more difficult in the beginning than in the end. Aside from the imbalanced difficulty curve, I found myself barely fighting monsters apart from grinding. There's too much running errands, talking to people and running back and forth required in the story, and not nearly enough being a witcher. Although I felt the gameplay was a little stale, the biggest redeamer is the story. I really liked it! My advice, play this one on easy and try to breeze through it not only to get a feel for the story, but to create a more personal experience in the second two games as well. You won't regret it.

Seriously, a seemingly underrated game. I have loads of fun playing it. I just wish more people would.
