2025 Game of the Year, and it's not even close. This is one of the best, if not the best game I've ever played in years, and it's not even a comparison. Tell everyone you know about this game, because I can't sing it's praises any more than I can in writing. 10/10 Recommend. It's gonna win GOTY, and it's not even close.

This game is fun at first, and for the first few hours, but all the issues come to light the more you play this game, how restricted you become when you play this game.

You're supposed to build a base and survive in it, well that's not the proper way to play that aspect of the game, don't even build a base, build a cheese base, that's the only way to deal with that survival mechanic. Also, there's no build variety to bases, all advanced bases rely on electricity, and the zombie's path finding mechanic, only way to have fun. Give more variety, but that's too difficult to do.

They have to monetize their game in a way that shouldn't be monetized the way they're doing it. Offering more Armor that you have to pay for, when they just overhauled all the armor in the game, to then sell the ones they got rid of right back to you, the loyal fans, what the ♥♥♥♥ is that? That's some greedy nonsense if I've ever seen it. The game leaves much to be desired. I would love more setting customization, without having to edit the xml files. Also, PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Nerf the new biome specific zombie spawns and the range of the desert zombie, its so annoying to have to deal with.

I keep having to lower the difficulty to avoid all the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of having Irradiated Zombie Spawns in a Tier 4 POI on day 15 on Nomad, or better yet, give us the players a setting customization of altering the difficulty stage progression. It's so annoying to deal with all of this, better yet make the bees die when they attack you.

A side tangent, I'm fixing a collapsed bridge to get to the Desert City on Navezgane, I'm 30+ blocks from the river below, how can that ♥♥♥♥♥ ass Fedora wearing mother ♥♥♥♥♥♥ send his bees to attack me from all the way down there, not fun to deal with when I'm constantly being assaulted by zombie spawns Why are they so high, and don't say it's tied to my Loot Stage, because I already know this, it should not be linked like that, fix your game, do better, this game has been early access for 12+ years and we're still dealing with poor game design.

It used to be a fun zombie game, but no longer, they additionally restricted progression behind magazines? What even is that, you should be allowed to get better at the game by continuous action, but that's too hard to add back in apparently. I still stand by this point, and adding skill perks to make this less of a tedious system, it can be better optimized, or lower the amount needed for everything like you did with simplifying the values of the crafting system, still upset about that change but whatever. I should be able to gain crafting experience by crafting items like in most games.

They also literally locked loot tables behind the Trader Quests, What the ♥♥♥♥ even is that??? Who thought that was a good idea? Whatever happened to upgrading your character for a more reliable way of finding loot? Going to more difficult areas to find better loot? Whatever happened to a flat rate of finding items in loot tables? That apparently got lost from the first steps of this game. Bring this feature back.

Also, just wanted to put this out there. So if you use a jar in real life, and drink a beverage in said jar, the jar just disappears?, does that happen in real life?...Do I lose the jar in real life? No, no you do not, so why does this happen in the game, and don't say for balance. Why do I have to set the refund to 100% to achieve this, and why does the Glue Recipe consume my jars of water when I craft them. Do I need Glass to make Plastic Containers to hold my Glue? Even more so, why is the most realistic action of requiring a Crucible to Craft said Jars exactly like in real life...I rest my case, make it ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ make sense man...I hate having to deal with poor game design, and its not about, oh just go find more, make more, its not about the simple concept of doing so, it's about the principle, plain and simple.

Not Recommended in it's current state. Give us more setting customizations, like in Project Zomboid. You can customize an insane amount about the game, and it's not a monumental task, just give more customization to the players, and be content with that. It's not a personal attack on you or your game, I criticize it because I see the potential this game has. Take my review in good faith, because I care about this game, even back with the licensing issues when it was on Console, but when you put the Quit Button on the right side of the screen, rather at the bottom like every game ever to exist, and instead replace it with the DLC button, like a Dark Pattern, makes me really wonder if ya'll wanna make a game, or if you just wanna make money from this game. It's getting more difficult to tell with each update, change that at least, I hate seeing that ♥♥♥♥ in my zombie game.

My thoughts on the Demo:

I honestly didn't know how I'd feel about the 3D shift from the first game, which I 100% on Switch, before Nintendo got Greedy AF; this game is actually really fun. I love all the advancements they made from the first game, and although I'm biased of the first one, this one is still really fun; I look forward to the full release. I just wish they could implement Multiplayer, and a way to increase the character movement speed by getting an upgrade you can find during a run or just a permanent one when upgrading your character. If they did the Multiplayer, this game would be so fun to play with friends.

What I don't like about the game is how they dumb down the shop for literally no reason. That was literally half the game, and items are a fixed value, which I understand, but they took out an important aspect from the first game. Felt like the combat is the main focus point of this game than the shop keeping. I still don't like the 3D, I'm biased of the first game's art style. It just feels like they could have given the player more reason to run the shop, more urgency with pricing items, haggling with customers, but I don't feel it with this game. I want to like this game, but the vast changes from the first game really have me cross with this one.

The game is fun, and dumb down with the shop keeping, there really is no shop keeping, just give us flat bonuses with running the shop, giving players permanent upgrades for the shop, rather than the RNG of what you get from selling items to customers. Kind of disappointing ngl.

Great Game, would be even better with a higher server cap but overall a great experience. I highly recommend the game to anyone who likes this kind of game play.
