Beautiful chill puzzler that is not too hard.

A great game that I was skeptical of at first. It takes a couple of runs to get a feel for what you are suppose to be doing, but once you do, it is hard to put down. It has that, just one more turn thing going on.

Great puzzle game; now I just need a Toon machine equivalent.

A nice little metroidvania that does not overstay its welcome. It is a little on the easy side, but still fun. Somehow, orbs as weapons are immensely satisfying (more so than most weapons in most games).
It has a great visual aesthetic.
My only complaint is which elements each orb is is not well shown.
I hope they make a sequel.

It is the old games you know and love, but with a fresh coat of paint and some minor quality of life improvements. You can easily toggle between the old style and new style graphics, but the best thing to me is that the new graphics are very much in keeping with the original art style which I love. It also sounds great.

While the 4 games plus all expansions may not be as advanced as modern RTS's, I view this as a boon, because it is exactly what I am looking for. What a great value.

I preordered and now refunded the game.

The game spams you with tutorials, and if you turn them off, you will have no idea how to actually fight the demons, so don't turn them off. Outside those tutorials, the game has no concept of gradual introduction or introduction in isolation. Also, don't forget your Bethesda account, even if you are just playing single player.

Punching does nothing, and so many enemies are just bullet sponges unless you play rock, paper, scissors with your weapons/their weakness. It is weird to describe how things seem both highly effective and ineffective at the same time. I can rip a cacodaemon apart with my bare hands (if flashing), but if I punch a mook 26 times, it does nothing. I shotgun one enemy and they gib, then the next daemon takes half the shotgun ammo to put down.

Be careful when using the glory kills. You are still invincible while doing one, but it is like enemies wait for the animation to finish before attacking you. Because of this, they are way less satisfying than Doom 2016. You are forced to use the chainsaw as a part of your combat routine, but this just makes it feel unspecial. I would also recommend moving it from its default keybinding to something more convenient.

This is compounded by the fact they give so little ammo, and so many enemies are just bullet sponges. I have read comments saying that it becomes less of an issue later in the game when you have more weapons/upgraded ammo capacity, but, if that is the case, why did they design the first part of the game to be so unfun. Don't waste ammo on the fodder, except they hit like a truck.

Remember to move, except when they teleport a demon in to stop you in your tracks. They encourage you to explore for secrets, but there are invisible walls, ungrabbable ledges, and bottomless pits everywhere. The platforming is a poor addition.

I decided to refund this game when I realized I was running from demons instead of fighting them. There are other games where you can have fun right away and don't have to wait for three hours in. I found their 'fun zone', and it wasn't that fun. This is some other game, wearing Doom 2016 skin.

Pros: looks nice, great music, glory kills are faster.
