Saber Interactive gets a go at the 40K universe with a sequel to Space Marine, made by someone else I played over a decade ago.

This game feels great, it feels like they mixed a lot of World War Z elements with other Warhammer games. A lot of code or mechanics do feel copy and pasted from WWZ, but beefed for the better. I play a lot of Operations more than anything, staying away from multiplayer. PvE gameplay loops is fun enough I plan to play it through its updates.

Not to say there are questionable game design choices, odd performances issues at times, and frustrating multiplayer experiences.

I trust devs from previous games and their road map seem promising enough I look very forward of what is to come.

EDIT: If log in requirements change due to publisher arbitrary decision then so does my review. Democracy already got my money so what do they care.

AMENDMENT: Sony backpedaled. Impressed they only let backlash happen over a weekend. Good job keeping up your civvy duties, Helldivers. Time to get back out there.

Have you ever wanted to play a game based on a movie directed by Michael Bay after getting forcibly indoctrinated by a secret church that worships the words of Robert A. Heinlein's Starship Troopers? Well that's oddly specific..and you're in luck!

Definitely my favorite 4 person coop since I got burnt out of Deep Rock Galactic. Sure there's been some bumps early on with servers, some devs literally instigating arguments in communities and balancing is getting looked at constantly as it is needed. The executives of the company seem to have addressed or are addressing things well enough to trust they'll continue towards the right direction.

As for the pros, this is the funnest I've had in a game, even when things go horribly wrong. There's a wide range of difficulties, and higher difficulty doesn't simply mean increasing health pools. They increase a little, but it's moreso about increasing numbers and some levels they gain new combat abilities. Giving you control of aiming weapons from a freighter you have docked in orbit above makes for some epic or huge blunder moments. Player levels only matter in the first half, once you acquire all stratagems you're on level playing field of anyone higher than you.

It's a great time solo, can be better hopping into Quickplays. But if you can manage to find even one or two friends to play with, it's a blast. I've currently maxed level and on most resources and still pop in daily to see where democracy needs spreading next. Highly recommend.

I don't think I ever put more hours into a game than Rocket League. And this was a game I picked up thinking I'd play for 10-20 hours and drop it.

I don't care for soccer. I'm not a car freak or care for racing games. Together, they make a combination that easy to understand, unique and most importantly, fun to play. There is only one goal in matches. Put the ball in your opponents goal. There is a stupid amount of ways to do it. Easy to play, hard to master.

I found the matchmaking to be a delight. Once it is calibrated and get a base value for you, it does pretty well matching you with people around your skill. This isn't perfect and gets skewed at times, due to smurf players or being in a wide range of skill team, but my complaints are minimal.

You can pick up and play for as little or as much as you want, there isn't much more than a 10 minute commitment. I've played one game for 10 minutes or too many to count for all day.

It was well worth the money, and continued support from Psyonix just multiplies my appreciation for the game.

Out of all the tower defenses I've played, this one has got me stuck to it the most. After hours n hours of playing, I've come to find the real challenge and game begins in New Game +. Sure, there's flash versions of it, but happy to pay for anything that takes up this much of my time.

An improvement from the previous two Tribes games, focuses on the skiing mechanic to move around which provides a unique style for the standard FPS mold.

Play as Aliens or Marines. Some modes offer a RTS style provided by the Commander Station. Yep same greatness as the previous one with upped graphics and an improved upgrade mechanic. That 's playing just the beta!
