While the game is polished, has great graphics and insanely detailed maps compared to its battle royal competitors - what it lacks is good old fashioned fun.

The core gameplay loop of getting clues and killing the boss is interesting for the first couple of hours, then gets tedious. The real fun comes when you hunt others or others hunt you.

Unfortunately the time investment required to be competitive to experience that fun is extremely large... and the majority of time while you try to git gud, it isn't fun. A factor in this is the sparsely populated oceania servers, which itself is a result of the game just not being fun enough for players to stick around.

On another note, some reviewers really praise the audio of this game. I respectfully disagree. The positional audio is much less precise than other games of its genre. Cod is way better. Apex is better. The sound effects have been compressed into a really small dynamic range and then boosted to the level they want you to hear. It results in the in-game audio sounding cheap and nasty.

On the flip-side, Hunt has one of the best title / lobby music tracks ever made for a game.

Do not recommend unless you can stick through 100 hours of funless, mostly empty games.

I had such a blast playing this game I had to come and leave a review.
This is the best solo survival game I have played.

The devs have taken the RPG mechanic of getting slightly more powerful via gear - that let's you progress further, and slay even more dangerous beasts - and applied it to - exploration. You find that next blueprint, that let's you make that next thing, that allows you the explore a little futher, where you then find that next blueprint.

Sounds simple, but weaving that together with an engrossing narrative, and a whole heap of polish isn't something easily done or we'd have more accomplished survival games like this one.

Even after 61 hours, I feel like I could keep going!

The basics are all covered well - sound, music, graphics.

Looking forward to see what these guys come up with next!
