Isonzo is a very fun game with a healthy blend of hardcore and fun. It's also very immersive to me with the booming sounds, character chatter, and historically-accurate detailed models (even the guns function realistically!) Each class has unique abilities and equipment that you can unlock. The tasks you have to complete to unlock items/abilities can feel a bit tedious at times but rewarding overall and they'll help you get acquainted with the class you're playing. As a side note, I actually enjoy playing Officer in this game which is a testament to how it can make typically daunting roles more engaging and fun. I encounter a bug or weird glitch here or there (in what game don't you, though?), but the game is stable most of the time and looks great. The players I've encountered have been friendly and cordial. One thing I've commonly heard from those that played Tannenberg or Verdun is that the mounted MGs are not shielded in this game like they are in those games. That's not really a downside to me, it just makes MGs less resistant to infantry fire, but it hints that this game does not play exactly the same so keep that in mind. My favorite feature, oddly enough, is the after-death camera where you can see the chaos that happens, for about 3 seconds, after you fall on the battlefield. Did the charge you personally led into an enemy trench succeed or did your teammates retreat immediately after? Did that bastard who shot you get shot himself immediately after or does he pop off more shots at your teammates? It's an almost serene moment, though brief, where you are merely an observer and no longer a participant in the madness that unfolds in this game.
