its good for some time, but dont expect another good really amazing and replayable roguelike
as most reviews say the item balance kind of doesnt exist here but another thing i wanna mention is that about 75% of the items are just kind of,,,, boring. theres so many items that do the same thing for different symbols and it comes of as lazy and its really bland. a lot of the more interesting items are locked behind a thing that youre probably never gonna get if youre trying to just win, like the game wants you to
the addition of hard mode just does the same old "who cares, they want hard mode ill give them double the requirements and thats it", its really low effort and REALLY frustrating on some memory cards
while on the topic of memory cards. i really liked some of them, they changed the game in a way thats neat and fun or gave me some challenge, BUT ill say there was only like about 4 of them that i felt were good, the rest are either "you play the same but with some gimmick/very slightly changed" or something that doesnt really matter at all.
i thought the game had a lot of potential at first and as a big roguelike player, i like to get good at the roguelikes i do play. but this game, as advertised, is mostly gambling, you never really get to choose the outcome. some might say "hey isnt that the point" and yeah, maybe, but for one, it takes away so much of the strategy/skill that makes roguelikes so fun and replaces it with dumb rng you cannot possibly react to and also the game really WANTS to be replayable while, after figuring out all the items and their uses, its very clear what works and what doesnt so the variety is extremely lacking. so many niche items work with one thing and one thing only or in one specific circumstance that it just,,, seems so meaningless
last thing i wanna bring up is the achievements. to be fair its not as bad as balatro's for example but it sucks the fun out of the game to be honest since, as i mentioned the memory cards get really boring. and you need to beat all of them, at least 2 times. as someone who really likes getting all achievements i REALLY tried to get this one but it bored me to death to be entirely honest and i only managed to get 13 out of the required 20 cards and ive given up
the game is far from bad and i can see it has a ton of effort put into it, but its far from something i want to actually play again, mostly because of the lack of real strategy required, the only thing you can really do inside of the actual slot machine pulling is pressing the button at different times but thats reaaaally stretching what id consider strategy. having no influence inside the actual meat of the gameplay just makes it grow really repetitive really quickly
