This is a great game.
It manages to mix mythical elements with mental illness issues – specifically psychosis – and creates a coherent, intricate story that unravels itself slowly throughout the course of the game.
The mental health problems are also well integrated in to the gameplay mechanics, especially when it comes to the riddles.
The protagonist Senua is very well acted by Melina Juergens, with believable mimic. Both character and world design are beautiful and I often happened to take a moment to soak the world in. The same can be said about sound design and music; the latter of which seems ambient until the finale, when it becomes more central, accentuating Senuas more pro-active actions.
But the high point of the game is the fantastic voice acting from both the protagonist as well as the side characters. In combination with the psychosis elements a heaphone becomes paramount.

There were, however, moments where I disliked the game. The battle mechanics are challenging but not complex and the longer the fights became, the more annoyed I got.
In one level I wondered if the hordes of enemies would be endless and the game expects me to just move on. At another instance, a boss fight, I instead began to wonder if I just don't use the correct moves. Both fights were to long for my tastes and I began dreading future fights. But to be fair, this might have been the intention of the developer: maybe the fights were meant to be dreadful and in hindsight might have been a setup for the final battle.

The pros of the game are definitely greater than its cons and thus I recommend buying this game.
