What do you get when you take fishing, science fiction, procedural generation and an exploration theme? That's right, you get Intergalactic Fishing.

For years I have been looking for a good fishing game that doesnt rely on shiny graphics but rather on gameplay and playtime and this game truly got all what you need.

I have tried to write several reviews at this point but had to restart since none of them gave enough credit to how great this game is.

There are several competitions in the game, procedurally generated fish and alien lakes with billions of possibilities without looking too abstract and with all that you still cant get enough.

Since there have been numerous tries on reviews by me for this game I will try to put it short and simple about my subjective experience with some keyfeatures:

The Good:
  • Arcade gameplay style that can still be challenging at times
  • In order to catch the fish you want you will have to design special lures (the number of possibilities is quiet endless), wait for the correct time, go to the correct location in the lake
  • Procedurally generated and realistic looking fish
  • Procedurally generated lakes
  • Fishing competitions between you and NPC
  • Several side quests
  • Exploration: in order to catch a fish you will need to know about the lake. Once you boot up the teleportation device that will send you to some random lake somewhere in the universe you will first have to gather a little bit of data of the lake

The Bad:
  • nothing really, except for the initial Tutorial that seems a little too long but thinking about, without all the information it gave me I would've probably already quit the game
