If you like GG Aleste 3, you'll like this. However, if you want to play "normally" without a shop, you have to select Retro+EX difficulty. All other difficulties force you to use the shop system. That's fine though, because the game is deliciously intense on that difficulty.

It was amazing before the dlc. Basically a perfect roguelite. Way better than Isaac. Then the free dlc was forced on it and brought it down to normalcy. It became merely good, not great.

But you can fix that by opting in to the "legacy beta." Yes, it's still amazing! Just make that tweak.

It's like Vampire Survivors but:
1. Not ugly
2. Has buttons for dashing and spellcasting, so it's less of an idle game.
3. It's by that Skelly Selest guy!

Recommended. I recommend Skelly Selest even more.

1 of the 3 best Binding of Isaac-style roguelites. The other ones are Monolith and Enter the Gungeon. (The Binding of Isaac does not make my top 3.) This one has lots of charm and good design.
