Due to being a VR rhythm game Synth Riders is often compared with Beat Saber and the like. As someone who plays and enjoys both I'd say that Synth Riders naturally encourages players to use a more 'dancey' style whereas it typically requires a good custom map in Beat Saber to get a similar feel.

As with most rhythm games, the easier difficulties are good for getting used to the general mechanics but it becomes really fun at the higher difficulties as more interesting patterns and moves are introduced.

The developers have continued to release updates (such as the addition of a multiplayer mode) and are great at taking feedback in order to improve the game. There is also an established community of custom song mappers who have quickly worked out what makes an enjoyable map within Synth Riders' particular style. Having said that, the songs which come with the game are just as much fun and the developers have shown that they are prepared to improve the mapping of these as time goes on.

Overall, I definitely recommend giving Synth Riders a try whether it's your first VR rhythm game or to have as an alternative to something else.
