There are some really weird design decisions here that do not feel good to play. Even overlooking the obvious quality of life stuff like non-rebindable keys, the "Shared energy" system between gun and shield, and the REALLY TERRIBLE melee system, i can't recommend this game.

Rat Race is good actually

While the characters and story are charming, the moment to moment gameplay and especially the user interface and control scheme are hot garbage.

You'd have to really love jank to enjoy this, let alone finish it.

After creating an incredibly fun movement system, the developers go out of their way to tack on every bad idea and anti-fun mechanic to really drag this game down.

The atmosphere is fantastic, and its neat to enjoy the world alongside the characters and their silly forum posts, but the gameplay is atrocious.

There are no redeeming features, whether its the insane grinding, mindless dungeons or finicky avatar battles, the gameplay loop is pretty miserable.
