A friend bought it for me so here we are, after going through the reviews I can't tell if they're real or not...
Regardless, what I have to say in this game's favor is that it's competently made. I expected it to chunck away at 15 fps, giving you the same experience as you'd have if you blinked really fast while playing, but no - it's fine. Camera also doesn't clip through the ground, which also was surprising for these "meme games".

Which brings me to the background music, which has absolutely no right being as good as it is. But I suppose it HAS to be that good considering it has to hold up for the gameplay, mainly consists of "go to a place and when you're there go to the other place", except for one mission, where you have to push a barrel up a mountain, during which I constantly felt the developer's taunting middle finger pointing at me from the other side of the screen, laughing.

In conclusion; it's fine. It's a waste of potential if anything, like other reviewers say here: it's made well enough that with more content could have been something on its own, instead of the "look it's death stranding gameplay guys, you walk a lot in that game, isn't it funny, haha". But as it stands it's something to do to kill 2 hours (if you wanna 100% it) and then never open it again.
I guess you get what you pay for. And for the price, it's fine.

The anonymity really brings out everyone's inner tosser - and I wouldn't have it any other way.

While toxic communities exist in almost all online multiplayer games, I would say that Town of Salem has managed to accrued a special kind of "behind the spectrum" reta*ded, and it makes some games *really* enjoyable and fun to play, regardless if you win or lose, just to see the unfettered facepalm-worthy stupidity on display alone is worth it.
Now, that is if you can stop yourself from being serious and just have fun with the game instead, I can guarantee you will have blast with Town of Salem.

I have over 1000 total games played, and I highly recommend you stick with Ranked Practice, instead of going to Ranked If you want to have fun games. Of course there is nothing wrong with doing your best to try to win, but keep in mind that your teammates are randomly selected, and anyone knows that trying to win with randoms is like throwing ♥♥♥ rags on a McDonald's bathroom wall --- you can scream all you want, they're probably not gonna stick, and they're just ♥♥♥ rags, you idiot.

When you thought you couldn't love this game any more, the devs comes out with an awesome update. <3
If you own a VR headset this game is a must have, easily the most fun and replayable VR game I've ever played.

I really like the game, the story is a cringefest but the locales are fun to play around in.
However I can't give it a positive rating because of DRM and that shady privacy policy, in fact, should I have known about it beforehand it would have been a dealbreaker for me.

I think I saw a simillar game on newgrounds back in 2012, only it was free and you didn't have to infect your PC to play it

I just thought this wonderful game deserved another positive review

Running around aimlessly looking for people to kill only to be killed from someone who spawned behind you isn't very fun. The constant explosions makes it hard to listen for footsteps and when someone calls positions you can't tell if it was your teammate or not. What's more, is that there are blatant aimbotters already, but I guess that's to be expected. It's not like a small indie company like Activision could ever afford to implement some kind of anticheat.

On a completely different note, I really like the gun sounds and the smattering noise after a huge explosion.

Seems like talking to the "developer" is just as an unpleasant experience as trying to play his "game"

Holy crap this game is bad
It's a typical endless runner game but plays and looks like it belongs on a 3rd party VR smartphone app.
You play in 3rd person and control the character and camera with the mouse, which only handicaps the actual gameplay since you can't see where you're going, but let's you see the ass and tits of a scuba diver deep underwater with no goggles.
In general it just feels like another half assed game just to make some money, either by selling games with "sexy" themes or spamming you with uninspired easy achievements in the hundreds.

Don't support this and stay away from this garbage!
