TLDR Review:
Really fun game with a team that genuinely cares. Everything has been thought out in such a way where it's genuinely enjoyable - would recommend!

Main Review:
Helldivers 2 is a very fun and grabbing game! The gameplay loop itself is very simple but it has been done in such a way where I can't just leave it more then a day before itching to play more. The over-the-top stragegems you get throughout the game is very much overkill but really satisfying to use. I must also commemorate the devs on making it feel like it isn't a grind to progress and unlock what you want - something of a rarity these days!

The cutscene just before you drop into the game is, in my opinion, a masterclass in cinematics: the way the camera pans down onto the hellpods with the "whooshing" sound as you re-enter the atmosphere along with the music, just makes me adore it! It really gets you hyped up to the upcoming events!

The sound and soundtrack in general is really good - I love the foreground effects with the guns and such, and the dynamic soundtrack on whether you've been spotted or not, really makes the auditory experience a pleasure. I got the game working at low settings (with the "Performance" resolution) at 30fps/1080p on a Steam Deck - not bad for running outside the maximum resolution the APU is designed for honestly!

So in conclusion I would highly recommend this game: it's fun and the battles you take part in becomes part of the lore of Helldivers 2 (you might've heard the "Fall of Malevelon Creek" in passing when this game was initially talked about)... For all the content and the pro-consumer practices Arrowhead has (let alone HD2 has a dedicated DM who dynamically controls the game) - £35 is an absolute steal! I'm doing my part; are you?
