Streaming all assets was a terrible idea. They should have just continued to stream the terrain like in 2020 and kept everything else local. Unacceptable server launch issues aside, this game is riddled with too many game breaking bugs. Every aircraft has at least one issue that isn't present in 2020, like interior or exterior lights not working, EFB causing weird issues and crashes, autopilot not functioning properly, LOD issues even with a gigabit connection and 4090 with a 9800X3D. The career mode is an absolute mess, like they didn't even test the basics of it. Even the working parts don't make sense and then there is the game breaking bugs that ruin a 3 hour flight.

This game is a year out of being ready, but then they'd have to rename it to MSFS 2025.

I hate to leave a negative review as I have enjoyed every expansion so far, but timelines just isn't worth it. It's too complex for new players and too boring for experienced players. They need to go back to concentrating on the hall mark of this game, the sand box.

Elite is a love hate relationship. The development is questionable, and there's so many things that just almost hit perfect, but not quite. Regardless, it's a game I've played since I was a kickstarter backer in 2011, and I still come back to it and play it non-stop in sessions. That said, it's easy to get burnt out, and the things you get excited for, the shallowness shows up very quickly, and can get disappointing fast. Overall, it's worth the time, the VR immersion and sound design are probably the best in the industry.

Not an X-Wing or TIE Fighter successor, but looks nice in VR.
