This game is actually a lot more fun than I expected. After over 100 hours logged on it, I can say it was money well spent.

Even when we're almost into 2023, this game still feels like the visionary masterpiece that it was when it originally came out. It's the ONE game that is permanently burned into my Steam library.

Facing Worlds. Sniper Rifle. You might as well quit right away, bro.

A fun way to pass the time. Runs relatively well on my 2017 MacBook Air with Intel HD 6000 Graphics. Highly recommended.

This game is very good. I won't say it's excellent, and here's why:

The Good:
- Fantastic engine: even with my average spec machine, the graphics are beautiful and very well optimized, with reasonable performance.
- The action is absolutely fantastic. It's the way a classic-style DOOM should be: fast paced, endless demon blasting with no BS
- The difficulty: it will very A LOT depending on the level, but it's the kind of challenge that's just fun enough, and not too frustrating.
- The quality assurance seems to be solid. I've yet to find any kind of bugs after my third playthrough.
- The music. The fact that they included parts or the original Doom soundtrack and adapted them in the best way possible for the new game... it's fantastic.

The not good:
- The weapons do not give you an impression of power. For example, in Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil, when you acquired the Super Shotgun, you KNEW it was a SUPER shotgun when you used it. In this new game, the weapons aren't underpowered in effect, but rather in feel.
- In my opinion, I prefer the style of Doom 3. Some parts of the gameplay in this new one feel kind of "rushed".
- The game is way too short.

In the end, I do recommend this game, but definitely not at its release price. When it hits a 40%-50% special down the road, that will be a worthy price to pay IMO.
