I really like this game, but what I don't like is the number of people using open source pre-programmed sources. There's no real way to avoid it, it just sucks.

For early access it's a pretty complete game, there's a lot of room for strategy alongside the RNG that keeps things interesting. I look forward to seeing what gets added in the run up to the actual release. While still EA the playerbase isn't massive, but it's plenty big enough that you won't lack for a match using the random matchmaker, plus, there's a lot of solo content that really helps you learn the units and how the game works before you jump in.

Really fun little spaceship builder... Plenty of gameplay already included but also has a ton of potential looking forward to later releases.

Sadly very dissapointing, I played extensively hoping to see something new, the only time I did was to see a grand structure that was used to show a portal in a demo video, looks like that content was cut as it did nothing.
Collected untold amounts of the same resources from the same crystal shards on over 20 planets, sold them, upgraded storage capacity, repeated.
There's just so much missing content that the game just feels like an eternal pointless unfulfilling loop.
I was anticipating this game for years but beyond the game not matching the hype the game just doesn't match the description "a game".

No longer at all true, good work fixing the game over the years

Simply the best Xcom game I've played since Xcom and I've literally played them all. For fans of the original looking to relive the feelings that UFO provided so long ago this is the one you've been waiting for. I originally bought the game 3 years ago and looked forward to this day checking the website frequently to know when the final experience was ready.
Firaxis' latest Xcom is the candy coated, visually impressive but lacking substance of what this game actually is.
It may have taken 5 years to make, but it was well worth it, after all it's the first game which I will claim to be a true spiritual successor 20 years later.
