VERY fun metroidvania and smooth keyboard controls. Though the ESC key being used for exiting menus and standing up is kinda awkward and not remappable unless you use some 3rd party tool. Also, having to go to the map menu so you can then go to system settings is kinda weird and not very intuitive (though maybe it adds to the immersion, as you can only hotkey directly to maps and equipment). I hope there's a dedicated key and remappable ESC in the future.

Never played portal before. Short but sweet. The advanced levels were especially fun to figure out. Currently playing the Rexaura mod and that's also really nice.

Have been playing this since the first one on PS3 (with bass). My experience is with the bass path as I do not play guitar. I always recommend this for people who already play bass/guitar as a nice practice tool/game/quick way to learn a song if you don't read music.

However I will add that it has some latency when it comes to your instrument (which is to be expected), so what I recommend is using an audio interface as a USB microphone [or if the game doesn't recognize your audio interface as a mic, plug a 1/4" TS cable splitter into your instrument (or other output) to split the signal between the real tone cable and an audio interface/amp/etc of your preference], then turn down the instrument audio on the mixer settings to listen to it in real time.

The reason why you may want to do this is because playing too much with that latency could lead to you getting used to it and thus throwing off your timing when you play live. Also it's good for recording/listening to your instrument in high quality.

Also buy Cherub Rock, best song in the game. Wink wink.
