Tiny item pool, 70% of which are completely useless in the final area and especially against the final boss, extremely RNG heavy with a superficial illusion of choice in things like scrappers and cauldrons, bullet sponge enemies, demanding timers that strongly discourage exploration and freeplay. Worse than the first game in every aspect except visuals in my opinion, and there are games that do every aspect of what RoR2 aims at better - vampire survivors or rogue genesia for fun loot tables and upgrades, jupiter hell for tactical gunplay through hordes, helldivers 2 for pure extraction shooter action.

Doesn't help the latest DLC is absolutely terrible.

An exceptionally fun modern CRPG. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys role-playing games like Baldur's Gate 3. The strategic elements are more of an accessory to the core RPG gameplay, which focuses around an engaging alt-history set during the fall of the Roman Republic where you step into the shoes of a would-be Caesar, on the ground, talking and killing and conquering.

I love this game. It's charming, fun, and surprisingly deep, three great qualities for any game to have. It's not a game that pressures you - it's relaxing and play-at-your-own-pace, but challenges can require you to sit down and spend hours in deep thought to puzzle it out. Plus, there's a sandbox mode where you can build your perfect world in peace. An excellent, uncomplicated, and simply good God game.

This game is pretty fun to start with plenty of upgrades building on the vampire survivors formula, but a little too grind heavy ultimately. It starts to become disrespectful of your time. Nevertheless, I think it is overall a good entry to the genre, and it's cheap.

Fun if you don't actually like playing games

Occasionally frustrating, a few questionable design choices (Enemies gaining HP when they notice you for instance), but overall basically one of the best if not possibly the best stealth-action game on the market that is not MGS Very unique and if you like either stealth gameplay or top down shooters, it is worth your time -- I found some elements of stealth frustrating and started playing with the heaviest armor and biggest gun, for instance, which is totally viable.

I'm a longtime CK2 player and enjoy CK3 greatly, especially when you use the console (cheating/debug). But I just can't recommend it. If you're like me and care more about the 'story' than the 'game' - which paradox claims to be focused on with a modern emphasis on 'roleplay' - you will find yourself slamming your head against your desk almost constantly.

Why can't you join a vassal's war? Why does my +100 opinion Spanish Catholic brother and friend rise up in furious rebellion when I try to revoke the county of a random orthodox bulgarian I've just conquered? Why do AI crusaders run away from the Crusade and leave you to die against an easily beatable enemy? Why did my brother send his Genius Robust Handsome son and heir as a hostage to the court of random basque muslims, making him ineligible to marry or have kids?

This is just a small sample of the slop you will face if you try to play CK3 without cheating, which I have dubbed 'paraslop'. The problem is, the game is easy - incredibly easy if you break it by doing busted stuff like hybridizing the Norse culture with the Tamil, for instance. But if you actually do 'roleplay', like Paradox says they want you to? Either get up the console or prepare for an endless stream of frustratingly horrible design choices and nonsensical magic that arbitrarily decides what you can do and how you can do it.

This game needs a serious re-evaluation of many core mechanics. It's completely unacceptable that you can be a King with your son and heir as a vassal duke and have NO physical option to help if his vassals arbitrarily decide they want to depose and murder him - except to watch it happen, with your 'Offer to Join War' button literally greyed out - especially in a game that has been out for multiple years now with over $100 of DLC.

Awesome game, rougelike turn based combat done right. Randomized and difficult, but rewarding to both player time and knowledge. Highly recommended to fans of XCOM or other turn-based RPGs.

Formulaic, and with a heavy emphasis on RTS style strafing/micromanagement of your King to pull units off economy - which would be much easier if you could aggro more than four or five units at a time, with 8 units coming on your second wave. The game is charming and full of soul, but it's also frankly pretty tedious and unrewarding, with far too much focus placed on extensive micromanagement of your King for my tastes. If you're expecting a time management strategy RTS like Kingdom, this game is not for you. However, if you enjoy the base-building and micro elements of games such as Starcraft or Company of Heroes, you will probably enjoy this game as well.
