I played through both DOOM 2016 and DOOM: Eternal on Nightmare difficulty with pretty good ease. Breezed through levels only dying a handful of times and stacked up on plenty of extra lives because of it. To add to that, there were a lot of mechanics I didn't even really rely on at all during my whole playthrough. This includes the grenades, the frost grenades, the flame belch, the BFG/Unmaker, or even the crucible.

This was not the case at all with this DLC. This expansion took everything that both DOOM and DOOM: Eternal throws at you and does it all, at, once. In the main game, you may spend about 3 minutes fighting enemies in each room. In this expansion, rooms can last up to TWENTY MINUTES. I was pulling my hair from the hours I spent replaying some rooms from dying endlessly. Finally when I got my bearings straight and RELIED on the mechanics I brushed off in the previous games, I ultimately became better at the game. God I just wish Doom guy hadn't have broken off the crucible in that Icon of Sin. It would have came real handy in this DLC.

TL;DR This game f##ks. hard.

I played this game when it was just a browser demo back in 2014. I was amazed that you could actually make a game like this in HTML5 (lol). Honestly such an amazing game with a unique style of combat and great story telling. Highly recommend.

Love getting lost in this game. Definitely a learning curve though. Absolutely fun to play with friends.

This is one of the most fun experiences I've ever had playing VR. Absolutely addicting.

Also make sure you get the mod loader to get custom songs. Most custom songs are only hard+ but I promise you, put some hours into this game and you'll learn how to play the hard songs.

I was up at 5 AM playing this looking for a fourth Barber Shop quartet member hiding in the bushes. After finding him they basically sang me a song about how I should take a break. This game is self aware.

I played this game from start to finish. Most of the negative reviews are from people who havent beat the first three levels.

The first world (or the first three levels) are in Icarus colony. This place sucks. Too much confined space with too many enemies. After you make it past this place, the game is a breeze. The game looks a lot nicer too.

Don't get me wrong though, there are a lot of things wrong with this game. Enemies only make sound whenever they detect you or they're dying, so you'll have no idea if an enemy is right behind you. This gets really annoying. Like I said, the first section of the game gives itself a terrible impression on itself. The first area you'll encounter has a large amount of enemies in confined space. The next three worlds (yeah, theres only four) are much more open spaced and aren't cluttered with enemies.

I've heard people say this game lacks performance wise. I don't have a super computer but It's also not cheap (using a 750 ti). I had some frame drops fighting enemies but it wasnt anything too serious. I mean I did beat the game after all. Upon reaching the end of the level, the games fps drops dramatically. I can guess this is because its removing the assets of the old level and loading the new one. But they could have easily put that in the actual sequence where you change levels.

Also, there seemes to be a glitch where some scrap pieces are unable to be picked up. Theres also an item that is basically a magent to scrap metal, so if you manage to come across a piece of scrap metal that cant be picked up, its just stuck under your character. The scrap metal also has racast collision making it somehow get in the way when you try to open doors.

The game is good. Can't say its 20 dollars good.

It's a fun game to play. But from experience, the multiplayer is really broken and the building system is kinda poo.

They would be better off copying a lot of mechanics from Blockland.

And speaking of Blockland. It's got a ton of stuff and allows Mods. Go check that game out.
