Now this is my first and most likely only review I'll every make. Gears of War is one of my all time favorite game franchise as I grew up and what this game has done to the series I just can't ignore. Sorry if this feels like a rant I did enjoy the game it just felt wanting.

I was over joyed to see gear finally coming over to the PC! Until I finished my play-though of the game... The Dev's seemed to be unable to choose which member of delta they wanted to have as the main character. As the story progressed we spend less and less time on time on character development and more on fruitless side quests and open world dead space that only seem to divert way from the minimal main quests.

Overall you spent more time on collecting upgrade points for Jack or looking around for the side quests. The open world zones, while an interesting idea really has no place in a gears as fights were far and few in-between. All this I could overlook as gears is one of my favorite ip but what really did me in was at the end of the game all the struggles you went though were pointless as the main focus of the game (which I wont spoil for those whom wish to buy the game) is made completely irrelevant before it is even fully utilized.

My only misgivings for Gears of War 4 was the focus was to set on the old Delta and not the new Delta. I had hoped in Gears 5 they would remedy this and breath so much needed depth into the new Delta. Sadly it seems this game moved from being held up on crutches of the old Gears cast to full on life support to even get though the few chapters that were even present. So little time has been spent on flushing out these new hero's that when the only major event (Wont spoil) that befalls them occurred I felt nothing except confusion.

As a closer I feel this games sole purpose was not to "reinvent" the gears franchise, but to such the cash out of kids who have to have all the cool skins for weapons and character in the multiplayer modes. Needless to say this game was only made to update the cash shop and not provide an in-depth story that the Gears games was famous for.

TLDR- I play games for the story and this game was lacking in every possible area of that aspect.
